Make haste slowly.
This is a Zen story. Once upon a time, there was a young man who was eager to practice superb swordsmanship, so he came all the way to a fairy mountain and asked the outside experts for advice. The boy is bent on becoming famous as soon as possible. After bowing, he said, "I am determined to study hard and practice hard." How long will it take the master to learn to go down the mountain? " The master replied, "Ten years." The teenager thought it was too long, so he said, "If I go all out and travel day and night, how long will it take?" Master said, "It will take about thirty years." The teenager was shocked: "Why does it take thirty years to go all out?" The host didn't answer. The boy added: "I must practice hard at all costs and strive for early success." Master said, "Then, you must learn from me for at least seventy years." The boy pondered for a long time and finally realized. On one occasion, Qi Jinggong went to the East China Sea. Suddenly, the news came from the capital, flying horse, and said, "The Prime Minister Yan Ying is in critical condition. Please hurry back, otherwise it will be difficult to see him for the last time. " Hearing this, Gong Jing stood up in a hurry. At this moment, another messenger came, urging Gong Jing to come back quickly. I was so anxious that I shouted, "Get a good car and a good horse and let Li's son drive for me. Go back quickly!" " Xunzi drove hundreds of steps, and Gong Jing was in a hurry. Xunzi drove too slowly, so he grabbed the reins and started the car himself. He drove the horse for hundreds of steps, but he didn't feel that the horse was trying. He simply abandoned the car and ran away on foot.
