Insert-Reference-Index and Table of Contents

A dialog box will pop up.

Select Directory from the menu at the top of the dialog box.

Then set it according to your own requirements.

Note: Before setting, you should plan the level of your thesis, such as the first chapter-the first section and so on.

This helps to generate a better directory.

Don't worry that the ellipsis you mentioned is automatically generated.
