What is a clerk?
Official name. Courts at all levels in the Republic of China (Dali Court, Supreme People's Court, Supreme People's Court, Local People's Court and Local People's Procuratorate during the Beiyang Government). During the Kuomintang government, it was set up for the Supreme Court, the High Court and the Landlord Court. It assists judges and prosecutors in trial and procuratorial work, such as recording confessions and compiling cases, and serves as general affairs. The clerks are mostly appointed officials, and the clerks of Dali (Supreme Court) and High Court Procuratorate (High Court) are recommended officials.

A clerk, commonly known as a clerk, works in a people's court or a procuratorate and is responsible for taking records.
