Next, each group member finds the three-way intersection and four-way intersection with signal lights that they need to investigate. The situation of each group is different, and the vehicle distribution is investigated by point sampling method and parking line method respectively.

Next, I'll talk about visiting the expressway toll station and the Bay Bridge. After we arrived at the toll booth together, we first learned that the entrance was divided into non-stop toll lane, automatic card issuing lane and weight charging lane under the teacher's explanation. After observing the expressway toll station, we went to the Bay Bridge, where we observed the organization form of the interchange and the route of vehicles entering and leaving the interchange. The overpass was originally built to solve the problem that there are too many vehicles at the intersection and it is easy to cause traffic accidents.

After we get off the bus, observe the direction of traffic under the overpass and how to get on and off the overpass. The actual direction map of overpass can only be drawn by observing all directions. I observed that vehicles from south to west of this overpass need to use the overpass to merge the traffic from east to west, and vehicles from east to south need to use the overpass to merge the traffic from north to south, in order to play the role of this overpass well. One day, our group investigated the capacity and delay of Sanchakou Road, and the location was Jianxin Road. The whole group will arrive at the intersection at 8:30, and divide into groups. First, start the traffic delay investigation. Our team is in charge of the north entrance. I am personally responsible for recording non-stop vehicles with a cycle of 60s. One person is responsible for timing, one person is responsible for the number of stops at 0s, 15s, 30s and 45s, and one person is responsible for the number of stops. Three groups began to record in chorus, and one recorded fifteen cycles. Then the road capacity survey is carried out. Capacity can be divided into left turn, right turn and straight line. During the investigation, I still encountered many problems. First of all, the delay survey was conducted during peak hours. Because we were delayed on the way, the rush hour was almost over when we started the investigation. So there are some errors in the data. In addition, the preliminary work was not done well, and the record was wrong three times, which delayed a lot of time. When the traffic capacity is adjusted, there are differences because of whether the motorcycle is a motor vehicle. As a result, everyone agreed to record the motorcycle separately and discuss it later. When recording, some motor vehicles were not driving in the driveway, but driving in the pedestrian lane, so that several motor vehicles were missed. There are also some non-motor vehicles that do not follow the regular route, such as; After turning left, another motor vehicle went straight. These phenomena were recorded incorrectly. There is also a back door of the villa area at the end of the fork in our investigation site. There are not many vehicles in and out, but there are also a few vehicles in and out, which is a bit troublesome to record.

Therefore, in the investigation, we should do a good job in the preliminary work. The location should be chosen, the time should be grasped accurately and the organization should be active. The next day, we investigated the delay and capacity of Liaoyuan No.4 intersection. This time, the whole group arrived at the investigation site at 8 o'clock. This time it was during the rush hour, so there were many cars parked and there were some errors in the records, but few cars didn't stop. The survey was conducted on a 15 cycle, and this time the data is very regular.

Then we conducted a survey of road capacity, because it is still in the peak period and it is a four-way intersection. The traffic is so heavy that it is difficult to record. This time 100 is a cycle, and 15 cycles are carried out.

There are still many problems in the traffic capacity survey! First of all, there are so many vehicles that it is difficult to count them clearly. In addition, buses block the line of sight and ignore many small vehicles. There is also a medium-sized vehicle, which is not easy to distinguish, resulting in errors in the data. Also, when the investigation was delayed, there were so many vehicles in line that it was difficult to tell which one had driven through the parking line without stopping at first.

Therefore, in the investigation of the four-way intersection, we should have more people and cooperate with each other tacitly to reduce the data error. This traffic engineering internship can be said to be quite smooth. Although there were many difficulties during this period, we solved them. This internship not only enabled us to master knowledge, but more importantly, combined practice, application and practice, and truly realized the difference between practice and theory.

On July 2nd, our group went to Jianxin Sanjiaokou for an internship. It was the morning rush hour when we arrived near Jianxin Bus Station in Cangshan District, Fuzhou. Only the team leader and Qi Xin, a member of each group, can work smoothly. We recorded fifteen cycles, which are continuous records, and there can be no intervals. Then we conducted a survey of road capacity. We record it once according to a signal period of the three-way intersection. Mainly observe every imported motor vehicle and non-motor vehicle that goes straight, turns left and turns right. Among them, large, medium and small motor vehicles should be recorded. Non-motor vehicles mainly record bicycles and electric vehicles. I am mainly responsible for right-turn non-motor vehicles on secondary roads. In observation, sometimes it is too late to record or there are omissions and errors when recording. We recorded the data of group 14. Then put the data of each group together. This approach of fork in the road requires not only the coordinated work of each group, but also the reasonable and clear assignment of tasks by the team leader. Because the signal periods of the two intersections are different, we take the period of 100 second and record it once every 100 second, which records about 12 sets of data. During the observation, due to the last delay at the fork road junction and the accumulation of experience in road capacity, this internship is progressing smoothly.

After the internship investigation, the data should be processed. , mainly used for signal control of three-way intersection and four-way intersection peak hour delay. When calculating the road capacity, we should pay attention to the conversion of motor vehicles to standard vehicles, and the conversion coefficient of non-motor vehicles can refer to the relevant data in textbooks.
