The biggest feature of traditional book management mode is manual; First of all, we should register the purchased books in the data book, then label each book and make a book classification card corresponding to the label, and finally put the book classification card into the filing cabinet according to the category. For readers with library cards, it is necessary to record their information. When people borrow books, first of all, the certificate holder should go to the filing cabinet where the book classification card is stored to find out whether the book he wants to borrow is on the shelf, if so, then find the book he needs on the corresponding shelf according to the book classification card, then register the borrowing and returning time of the certificate holder and write down the borrowing and returning records on the bookmark bar, and then leave the membership card there; When returning the book, delete the corresponding lending record; This is more troublesome and time-consuming.
With the continuous development of information technology and computer network technology in recent years, libraries have developed from traditional libraries to automated libraries, and then to today's digital libraries. These changes make the image of the library more and more modern, and it is more convenient for people to find information. For some small libraries and some libraries, book lending, as the main work of the library, has not been well developed for a long time because of the relatively small number of staff. In the ordinary book lending work, it often takes a long time to find the books they need because most readers are not familiar with the collection of books in the library and do not understand the classification of book shelving. In order to improve the management efficiency and better serve readers, the collection of books is made into a WEB-based query system by using the existing office LAN conditions, which can query books on the network of the unit or even the Internet, making the book query and borrowing more convenient and faster, thus obviously improving the working efficiency of the library.
With the progress of society and the wide application of information technology, the advantages of digital management are becoming more and more obvious. In view of the backward management of small and medium-sized libraries or libraries, a book information management system is designed and implemented. The management of various book information in small and medium-sized libraries or libraries, combined with computers, can bring the following different conveniences to administrators and users: quick retrieval, convenient search, high reliability, large storage capacity, good confidentiality, long service life and low cost. These advantages can greatly improve work efficiency, and are also one of the important signs of scientific and standardized management in libraries and other departments. The cost of computer management is also decreasing. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a set of such small and medium-sized book management software to realize the principle that research serves practice.
To sum up, the traditional library management mainly relies on manpower in the process of borrowing and returning books, with low efficiency and processing capacity, and the number of readers that can be served for a period of time is limited. The traditional book management method has many people, heavy workload, complex search, double workload when updating, difficult to guarantee accuracy, and a lot of waste of time, space and resources. With the gradual popularization of information technology, the traditional book management methods will be replaced by information management systems based on computers and the Internet. As a part of computer application, using computer to manage book information through network has incomparable advantages over manual management. For example: remote access, access management anytime and anywhere, fast information retrieval, convenient book search, safety and reliability, large storage capacity, good confidentiality, long service life and low cost. Improving the efficiency of book management is the original intention of this design.
The topic of this graduation project is "WEB-based book management system". The main purpose of this project is to compile a management website with software to realize book management, reader inquiry and daily work based on WEB. At the same time, the analysis and design process of the whole system is fully demonstrated.
WEB-based book management system is a new mode of page management and database data management on the Internet. Give full play to the space-time advantages of the Internet. In the management of books and readers, in fact, the management of books and readers' data shows the shortcomings of traditional libraries and local computer book management software. The completion of the system is undoubtedly a leap in book management, which will provide great help to the managers and visitors of the book management system.
At present, in the library book management, readers are often limited by time and space. It is not only difficult to find the books they need, but also time-consuming and laborious to use the traditional query method to find books and let readers find them on the book classification shelf. However, when the librarian handles the book borrowing registration and inquires about the readers' book borrowing records, the librarian must find the book borrowing records one by one, which is very troublesome to find and delete. Whenever a new book is put into storage, the librarian has to fill in both the new book storage card and the new book storage ledger, which is not only a heavy workload, but also takes a long time to lend out the new book after it is put into storage. In addition, due to the limited number of books, some departments have to borrow books in limited quantities, so it is very difficult to implement flexible borrowing methods. This graduation project will solve the problems of book management and reader information management.
In order to improve the efficiency of book inquiry and reduce the workload of departmental librarians, it is necessary to develop an open book management software running on the network to effectively manage departmental books. The system must have the following functions:
1) Based on the WEB architecture, administrators and readers can manage and access it remotely;
2) Be able to classify and manage all kinds of books;
3) Provide necessary reader information;
4) Be able to make various advanced inquiries;
5) It has the function of book retrieval;
6) Librarians who can manage the login system, etc.
Through the above functions, the WEB-based library management information system designed this time can not only make full use of the advantages of the network to realize remote online management and online access for administrators and readers, but also help readers find the required book titles and book numbers in the shortest time, so that librarians can handle the borrowing procedures with the highest efficiency.
2. The problems to be studied or solved in this topic and the research methods and approaches adopted:
Main contents: The book management system is a typical information management system, and its system development tasks mainly include WEB-based access and management page development, database design and maintenance. The system mainly realizes intelligent management processes such as new book storage, reader borrowing and book retrieval. This system is not limited by time and distance. During the operation, any computer connected to the Internet can easily access it. Administrators can manage the system at home, and book readers can easily access the book management system. This book management system will change the traditional concept of book management, make it easier for administrators to manage and make it easier for users to search what they want.
Problems to be solved: The system needs to involve the following data items:
Library management: new books come in and out.
Book circulation management: borrowing and returning books.
Reader management: adding readers and deleting readers.
Inquiry: Inquire about the target books and their borrowing.
System management: add administrators and delete administrators.
Therefore, it is necessary to establish the following tables: administrator information table, reader information table, book category table, book table, loan book table, remaining book table, etc.
Design scheme: The design process of the book management system includes design scheme, programming, database design, web page making, image processing, layout design, data collection, text editing, server management and so on. A good and perfect system needs a detailed, reasonable and feasible planning and design.
In the aspect of database design, I will combine the software engineering method to analyze the requirements of the system, divide the functions and design the data flow diagram, and draw the ER diagram and design the database structure in combination with the database principle and function division. According to the results of demand analysis, the user conceptual data model represents data and their relationships.
Main equipment and its quantity: the hardware equipment needed for this system is mainly a microcomputer. In view of the current popular operating system is winxp, for the long-term use of this system, a microcomputer with relatively high configuration is adopted.
The specific configuration is:
P42.0G, DDR 1G memory, 80G hard disk,
Equipped with optical drive, floppy drive and usb interface.
