How to set the header and footer for paper format adjustment?
First of all, when editing and printing files in Word, we often use the "Page Setup" command.

1. The most common operation method is to execute the "File → Page Setup" menu command.

2. Put the page setup command of Word into the right-click menu of Word:

First, open Word, execute the menu command tool → Customize, click the toolbar tab in the pop-up customization dialog box, and select the shortcut menu option in the drop-down list box below it.

At this point, the shortcut menu toolbar will appear on the screen, then click the command tab, select a file item in the category drop-down list box, click page setup in the command drop-down list box, and drag the page setup option to the text button in the shortcut menu toolbar with the left mouse button.

At this point, the text drop-down menu will appear. Continue to drag the page setup to the top of the font command in the text submenu, then release the left mouse button, and then click the [Close] button in the customization dialog box to exit the setup.

At this point, we have put Page Setup into the right-click menu of Word. Just click the right mouse button in the text editing area of Word, and you can see the "Page Setup" command above "Font" in the pop-up shortcut menu.

Second, odd and even page settings

File, Page Setup, Layout √ Select the parity page, then confirm, insert, page number, align, and then confirm.

Third, the header and footer

In fact, Word's operation on the header and footer can be aimed at this unit. Therefore, the first thing to do is to put the home page, table of contents, body part and appendix part in different sections respectively.

The operation method is: first position the mouse at the beginning of the text, and click the menu command "Insert → Delimiter ……". Select the Next Page option in section break Type (be careful not to use the page break above). At the beginning of the appendix, insert a section break in the same way. It should be noted that if "page break" has been used for forced paging at the beginning of the text and the beginning of the appendix before, then this page break should also be deleted.

Header and footer settings

1. Home page and directory

Since the home page and the directory don't need headers and footers, then we don't need any operation.

2. Footer settings

(1) First, position the mouse on a page in the text, and click Menu Command View → Header and Footer to display the header and footer toolbar. At this point, the title of the section is editable.

(2) Switch to footer editing. Click the [Link to the previous section] button on the toolbar to make it "disconnected" from the previous section (the words "same as the previous section" disappear on the upper right side of the footer).

(3) Click the menu command "Insert → Page Number …" to open the "Page Number" dialog box, confirm that the "First Page Number" option is selected, and then click the [Format …] button below. Select the "Start Page Number" menu option below, enter "1" in the input box on the right, and then click OK to exit. Of course, you can also set the format and alignment of page numbers. Appendices can also be numbered from the first page in the same way.

3. Title setting

Put the mouse in the text, click menu command file → Page Setup to open the Page Setup dialog box. Click the layout tab, click the option of "Different even and odd pages", and confirm that the scope of "Apply to" is "this section".

Double-click the title of the body part to enter the editing state. You still need to click the [Link to Previous Section] button in the toolbar to "disconnect" it from the previous section, and then edit the header text of this page.

Because our requirement is that the headers of even pages and odd pages are different, we must edit another header on the next page. Please note that don't forget to click the [Link to Previous Page] button to ensure that the changes made are only valid in this section.

The header settings in the appendix are the same as those in the text. When operating, pay attention to click "Link to the previous section" to disconnect from the previous section. At the same time, according to the requirements, the contents of odd pages and even pages in the appendix should be set to the same content.

4 delete the title underline

(1) Select the entire header, and then in the Format-Borders and Borders tab, delete the underline in the preview window (more commonly).

(2) If it is directly selected, you can also press CTRL+DEL to delete it.

Fourth, automatically generate the directory.

Steps:

1. Select [Style and Format] in [Format].

2. The column "Style Format" appears on the right, mainly using the titles 1, 2 and 3. Title 1, title 2 and title 3 are applied to the titles of all chapters in the main text respectively. For example, we need to use the title 1 to define "Chapter 1 Introduction to Refrigeration". And "1. 1 development history of refrigeration technology" is defined by heading 2. If there is 1. 1. 1 ×××, it is defined by heading 3.

3. Of course, the attributes of title 1, title 2 and title 3 (such as font size, center, bold, etc. ) you can modify it yourself. Modification method: right-click "Title 1" and select "Modify" to open a menu of modification, which you can modify according to your own requirements.

4. Don't use the title 1, 2, 3 to define each chapter in the text. It is very convenient to define, just point the cursor to "Chapter 1 Introduction to Refrigeration" and click the title 1 on the right with the left mouse button. Similarly, define1.1with headings 2 and 3; 1. 1. 1; By analogy, the second and third chapters are also defined in this way until the end of the full text.

When everything is defined, we can generate the directory. Move the cursor to the blank position where you want to insert the directory at the beginning of the article, and select [Insert]-[Reference]-[Index and Directory].

6. Select the second tab [Contents], and then click OK in the lower right corner. It doesn't matter.

7. When you modify the content of the article again, you need to update the table of contents by right-clicking the table of contents area and selecting [Update Field].

8. After selecting [Update Domain], the box shown above will appear. Select the second "Update entire directory" button to confirm. It doesn't matter.

Verb (abbreviation for verb) deletes a blank page.

1. Put the mouse at the end of the previous page and delete it with the DEL key. If the blank page is the last page and the mouse is on the first line, select Format-Paragraph and set the line spacing of this line to a fixed value of 1 point, and the blank page will disappear automatically.

2. Show page breaks first, that is, adjust to "Normal View" in the lower left corner of Word, and then page breaks will appear, so just delete them.

Select Replace and click Advanced. After selecting "use wildcards", there is a word "special characters" at the beginning below. Hold down shift, click the mouse again, select a blank page, and then delete it (this solves my problem).

4. If it is a blank page caused by inserting a page break, if there are few pages, just delete the page break, that is, press the backspace key at the top of the blank page. (Page breaks will be displayed in normal view or when the edit tab is open. )

5. If there are many page breaks, you can edit/replace/advanced/special characters/manual page breaks/replace all.

6. If you draw a table, which occupies a whole page, and the last carriage return on the second page cannot be deleted, you can make the table smaller or set the top margin or bottom margin smaller, and set the top and bottom numbers smaller in the file/page settings.

7. Put the mouse at the end of the previous page and delete it with the DEL key. If the blank page is the last page and the mouse is on the first line, select Format-Paragraph and set the line spacing of this line to a fixed value of 1 point, and the blank page will disappear automatically.

Six, add a blank page

Method: Menu Bar-Insert-Delimiter-Next Page-OK. You can operate it several times as many pages as you want.
