Su Shu: Exploring the ambition, confidence and backbone of scholars
Scholar is one of the four masters in ancient China, ranking first in agriculture, industry and commerce. Scholars have many meanings, and we have adopted the saying in the Book of the Later Han Dynasty that "those who use their talents are called scholars". Scholars, referring to ancient scholars, are a special identity of ancient scholars and a social elite group. Scholars master knowledge and spread culture. They are participants in national affairs and creators and inheritors of culture. The ideal of a scholar is to "cultivate one's morality and govern the country".

Scholars have their own ambition, self-confidence and backbone, which is well reflected in Su Shu.

Scholars' aspirations are "handsome", "proud" and "outstanding". When major events are not completed or unstable, we should "wait patiently and do whatever we can to gain something." Once a major event is completed or stabilized, it is indispensable. If you advance, you will help the government, and if you retreat, you will cultivate yourself.

Scholars are talented, able to avoid suspicion, stay away from right and wrong, and have no deviation; Be able to learn extensively, be good at asking questions and be knowledgeable; Self-cultivation, noble behavior, cautious. Scholars' greatest ability lies in seeking the overall situation, their greatest perseverance lies in enduring humiliation, their most outstanding example lies in Xiu De, their greatest happiness lies in kindness, and their most precious virtue lies in sincerity.

The backbone of literati lies in their spiritual maverick, that literati can be killed but not humiliated. Respect, frugality, humility and simplicity will make your life in live high; Foresight, not in danger; Making friends with people with lofty ideals can get out of trouble.

The core value of "Su Shu" is to warn scholars to be good at sizing up the situation and retire after success, "sizing up the situation is the reason to go." In order to achieve Mencius' ideological realm of "being poor is the only way to protect oneself, and being able to help the world", we must achieve Fan Zhongyan's ideological realm of "being at the height of the temple is worrying about its people, and being far away from the rivers and lakes is worrying about its monarch", so as to achieve "living in seclusion, staying simple, and waiting for the road". If the time comes, you can be a minister; If you have the opportunity to move, you can do a lot. If it doesn't happen, it is nothing. It is because of its high reputation that its name is more important than later generations. If it is not timely, it will only be indifferent to the end, but for future generations, there is no loss of honor.

Laozi has a saying: "success, fame, retreat, heaven." In the history of China, there are really several generations. There are three people most admired by future generations: first, second, and third, Yao. They retired after their success, and their means of preserving our sanity won the charm of Su Shu, which is still admirable today.

Scholars who are not officials are called Untitled Scholar and laity. A successful person is a national scholar.

Of course, in order to repay him, in order to reward his ambition in his chest, there are also taxi perseverance. For example, Zhuge Liang in "Harmony to Two Generations" devoted his heart to his country and died, and he also had a unique style.
