1. Select all references to be inserted, then right-click and select Numbering to find "Define a new numbering format".
2. After defining a new numbering format pops up, set the reference numbering format in defining a new numbering format, and click OK.
3. Insert the document in the text, select "Insert" at the top, find "Cross Reference" at the bottom, select the article to be quoted at the same time, and click Insert to make the number in the text.
4. When the document order changes, word will not automatically update the reference number, and it needs manual operation. If only a single number is updated, select the number and right-click "Update Field", and the number will be automatically updated.
5. Click "ctrl+a" on the keyboard to select all articles, and then press F9, so that all numbered references in articles can be updated.
