I. Story literature

In Japanese, the word "story" means story or gossip. Story literature is the mother of Japanese classical literature. Fairy tale literature is a genre of Japanese classical literature, which came into being in the early days of heian period (794- 1 185). Its appearance marks the development of Japanese literature from lyric poetry to ancient novels. This style was formed on the basis of Japanese folk spoken language, and was influenced by the legendary literature of the Six Dynasties in China and the Sui and Tang Dynasties. This deeply influenced the later development of Japanese literature. Before Tale of Genji, there were two schools of story literature: one was to create stories (such as Tale of Bamboo), which was pure fiction and legendary; One is the story of songs (such as "The Story of Yamato"), which is mainly based on harmony songs, mostly objective narrative or historical account. The originator of Japanese storytelling literature should be bamboo stories. Takenori is the oldest story-telling literary work in Japan. It was born in the early days of heian period, Japan, and enjoys the status of "the mother of classical literature" and "the ancestor of storytelling" in the history of Japanese literature. In this literary work, he gives answers rhythmically through the chorus, which forms the typical characteristics of "storytelling" literary works and completely jumps out of the traditional Japanese "storytelling". Its appearance marks the birth of Japanese story literature. Another representative work of vernacular literature is The Story of Pingjia. Tale of the Ping Family is a classic literary work in the Japanese Kamakura period (1 192- 1333). The work describes the ups and downs of the struggle for power between Genji and Shi Ping, two Japanese samurai groups. Known as outstanding historical novels and brilliant war literature. The Story of Pingjia is essentially different from ancient stories in content and form, mainly describing the decline of medieval society and the changes brought about by feudal revolution. They use a new style, mixing Chinese, Buddhism and common sayings. This style has appeared before, but it didn't mature until the Tale of Pingjia, in which Japanese and Chinese are mixed, integrated and coordinated, and the writing is full of rhythm and powerful. It can be called a magnificent narrative poem. Japanese story literature has matured since Tale of the Pingjia Family, and the absorption of China culture has really affected the development of Japanese literature, including Tale of Genji.
