The specific functions and characteristics of the school campus network are as follows:

current technology

Gigabit Ethernet technology is adopted, with high bandwidth from trunk 1000Mbps to desktop1000 Mbps. At present, it is more than enough to run various application systems, and it can easily meet the application requirements in the future, and it is easy to upgrade and expand, so as to protect users' investment to the maximum extent.

Network equipment shall be internationally renowned products with stable and reliable performance, advanced technology, complete products and perfect service guarantee;

Network interconnection:

Provide Internet ISDN dedicated line access (or DDN) to realize the connection with public network;

Third, the campus network layout structure

The campus is relatively large, with many buildings and scattered layout. Therefore, when designing the backbone structure of campus network, we should not only consider the current practical application, but also consider the future development needs. The backbone network is centered on the central control room and has several backbone switching nodes, including the central control room, laboratory building, library, teaching building and dormitory building. The central switch and backbone switch adopt Gigabit optical fiber switches. 8-core outdoor optical cable is used between the central control room and the backbone of the library and campus network, that is, between the central control room and the teaching building, experimental building, library and dormitory building; Imported 6-core indoor optical cables and 5 types of cables are selected in the building.

According to the actual application of the school, there are 7 servers, which are used for the following purposes:

① Two main servers: equipped with Solaris operating system, responsible for the management of the entire campus network and the management of educational resources. One of the servers is equipped with DNS service, which is responsible for the resolution of all domain names in the whole campus network. The other server is equipped with a mail system, which is responsible for the mail management of all users in the whole campus network.

② 1 ②WWW server: equipped with Linux operating system, responsible for remote service management and website management. The WEB server adopts the popular APACHE server, developed in PHP language, and connected with MYSQL database to form a complete dynamic website.

③ Electronic reading server 1: multimedia data reading, query and file management;

④ 1 lesson preparation server: file management such as lesson preparation, courseware making, information inquiry and agency service.

⑤ 1 CD server: responsible for multimedia CD and VOD services.

⑥ 1 Book management server: responsible for the management of books and materials.

Fully considering the future application of the school, the information nodes of the whole campus are designed to be about 3000. The total number of switches is about 50, including 5 backbone switches with Gigabit optical interfaces. The original computer room is connected to the nearest main switching node through their respective switches, and is equipped with multimedia teaching network. The Internet is connected with ISDN by router, and DDN private line can also be selected. It can ensure the data browsing and downloading of multi-user groups.

Fourth, the network topology diagram

Optical fiber Ethernet technology is the integration and development of Ethernet and optical network. It concentrates the advantages of Ethernet and optical network, such as universal application of Ethernet, low price, flexible networking, simple management, high reliability and large optical network capacity. The high speed and large capacity of optical Ethernet eliminates the bandwidth bottleneck between local area network and wide area network, and will become a single network structure of voice, data and video in the future integration. Optical fiber Ethernet products can use Ethernet devices to realize wide area network communication services in Ethernet packet format. At present, optical fiber Ethernet can achieve standard Ethernet speeds such as 10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1Gbps.

Fiber Ethernet devices are based on Layer 2 lan switches, Layer 3 lan switches, SONET devices and DWDM. Some companies have introduced specially designed optical fiber Ethernet switches, which have many characteristics and can guarantee the quality of service (such as packet classification and congestion management) as much as possible. The product may need the following key technologies and performance: high reliability, high port density, quality of service guarantee and other functions.

Compared with other broadband access, optical fiber Ethernet service is more economical and efficient, but so far its use is limited to office buildings or buildings with optical fibers. The strategic value of this new method using Ethernet is not limited to cheap access. It can be used for both access network and local backbone network in service provider network. It can only be used in the second layer, and it can also be used as an effective way to realize the third layer service. It can support IP, IPX and other traditional protocols. In addition, because it is still a local area network in essence, it can be used to help service providers manage enterprise local area networks and the interconnection between enterprise local area networks and other networks.
