Institutional Evolution of China National Bureau of Language Translation.
China Ethnic Language Translation Bureau (Center) was renamed many times due to work needs: 1955 was formerly called "Translation Bureau of Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Central People's Government"; 1978 is called "Central State Language and Character Translation Bureau for the Works of Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong" (hereinafter referred to as "Central State Language and Character Translation Bureau"); 1990 and 199 1 were called "Central Ethnic Language Translation Center" and "China Ethnic Language Translation Center" respectively. It was not until 2003, with the approval of the Office of the Central Organizing Committee, that China National Language and Character Translation Center began to officially use the seal of "China National Language and Character Translation Bureau" when undertaking the translation work of national party congresses, people's congresses and CPPCC meetings.
