For papers published in core journals at home and abroad, the main author (ranking first) counts 1.5 credit for each article, and other authors count 0.5 credit for each article. Papers published in other public publications, the first author 1.0 credit, other authors 0.5 credit.

Students can get 0.5-2 credits (approved by tutors) after applying for invention patents and obtaining utility model patents and registered software through scientific research practice.

The school encourages students above Grade Two to actively participate in extracurricular scientific research activities. All students participating in the USRP project will receive 1.5 credits according to the completion of the project and the evaluation results of the tutor. Participate in the project of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program, and get 2 credits through the final acceptance. Participate in the activities of the school's innovative education base, as well as the practice and competition of non-teaching plans organized by schools and colleges (departments), and you can also get corresponding credits.
5, social practice, community activities
For unplanned creative social practice and community activities, the organizer should put forward the activity plan in advance, fill in the Application Form for Innovation Credits of East China University of Science and Technology, and report it to the Academic Affairs Office for approval and filing. 0.5 points for registered community activities, 0.5 points for social practice in 7- 14 days and 15-30 days. The accumulated credits of students participating in social practice and community activities shall not exceed 1.5 credits.
Students participating in club activities must submit their experiences or summary reports. Students who participate in social practice must submit practice reports. The organizer shall review the report and give a score (based on excellent, good, qualified and unqualified). The Academic Affairs Office examines the submitted reports and has the right to return unqualified reports and ask students to revise them, and decide whether to give credits accordingly. The above credits for social practice and community activities are only recognized for students who directly participate in the activities, excluding students who provide services for the activities.
6. Others
Other innovative practical activities such as comprehensive experiments and individual competitions organized by schools, colleges and departments shall be given corresponding credits according to specific conditions. The credit value is proposed by the organizer and filled in the Application Form for Innovative Credits of East China University of Science and Technology, which will be confirmed by the Academic Affairs Office.
During the four-year extension of Information University, students can obtain double-innovation practice credits through the following activities:
