Systematically study the yield physiology of wheat and establish the theory and technology of super-high yield cultivation. The physiological mechanism of flag leaf and root senescence under high yield conditions and its relationship with environmental conditions were systematically studied. The stages and physiological characteristics of wheat senescence and their relationship with grain weight formation were put forward, and the leading role of deep roots in senescence regulation and the mechanism of nitrogen, water and population regulating senescence process were found. The effective ways to prolong the slow decay period, shorten the fast decay period, maintain the high photosynthetic rate for a long time, improve the filling rate and increase the grain weight in this period were put forward.

The theory of improving biological yield and economic coefficient at the same time, increasing dry matter accumulation from flowering to maturity, blending to panicle and increasing grain weight was explored, which laid a theoretical foundation for obtaining super-high yield. An optimized cultivation technology system was established to improve the quality and yield of strong gluten and medium gluten wheat at the same time, including reducing the amount of nitrogen applied as base fertilizer, increasing the proportion of topdressing, controlling irrigation before, during and after growth, accurately applying nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, achieving high quality and high yield, reducing soil nitrogen leaching and improving water and fertilizer utilization rate. From 2002 to 2005, 654.38+0.4 billion mu was popularized in Huang-Huai-Hai wheat area, and the wheat yield was increased by 3.9 billion kg, which achieved remarkable economic and ecological benefits and made important contributions to the production of high-quality wheat in China. Professor Yu is a student of Academician Yu Songlie, a famous wheat cultivation expert in China. Engaged in the research and practice of crop cultivation theory and technology for a long time. At present, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Shandong Agricultural University, a member of the discipline evaluation group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, the head of the wheat expert guidance group of the Ministry of Agriculture, the executive director of China Crop Society and the head of the wheat cultivation group; Member of the 9th and 10th China People's Political Consultative Conference.
