Hao Sumin's Achievements
Hao Sumin, who was thoroughly remoulded, made up his mind to race against time and win back the most precious lost youth. There are no weekends and holidays in his schedule; His home has become a classroom and a research room. When she was young, her solid knowledge, well-trained academic understanding and keen insight, together with tireless cultivation and persistent hard study, made her outstanding in many fields:

In the study of Mongolian studies, he took the lead in putting forward the idea of "Willat-West Mongolian Studies", that is, opening a branch of "Willat-West Mongolia" folk culture research in the whole Mongolian studies in China, which was recognized and responded by Mongolian academic circles at home and abroad and put into practice in China. A series of papers, such as "The Study of Willat: The Conception of a Comprehensive Branch of Mongolian Studies —— Taking Folklore as an Example" (1987), were submitted to the International Symposium on Mongolian Studies, which aroused the interest and concern of scholars. He has successively published Investigation and Research on the Metric of Mongolian Proverbs, Folk Literature and Art in Western Mongolia: Construction and Development, Stories of Western Mongolia, Biography of a Boy Riding a Black Bull, Dunhuang Bianwen, Cultural Perspective: Mongolian Oral Language Folklore, etc. In order to establish this branch, theoretical discussion and teaching practice are carried out.

In the study of Mongolian folk culture, he devoted himself to the interpretation, translation and textual research of Mongolian Basiba. From 65438 to 0986, it was the first to publish the Chinese translation and annotations of the famous work "The Inscription of Basiba in Mongolian" by Professor N.poppe, an international master of Mongolian studies, which restored the original form of Basiba and supplemented the current Mongolian language in China. The supplementary form of this book objectively includes the new achievements of China scholars, and adds a variety of materials and documents such as plates and dictionaries. After publication, many newspapers published news, interviews and comments. Xu Wenkan, a lexicographer, evaluated it as "an important reference book with rich materials and convenient retrieval, which concentrated the achievements of foreign scholars" in Dictionary Research at that time. Professor Cai Meibiao, a famous historian, thinks this move is a "meritorious scholar"; Bao Xiang, an expert on Mongolian studies in China and vice president and professor of Inner Mongolia University, commented: "This is not just translation in the general sense." .

In the overall study of folklore/folk literature and art, Hao Sumin emphasized the observation and analysis of the mutual influence, change and transformation of folk cultures among ethnic groups. A Study on Dongxiang, Baoan, Yugur and Tu Ethnic Groups of Mongolian Language —— Also on Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur, Hui, Salar, Weilat, Donggan, kalmyk, Buryat and other ethnic groups in Russia: the study of Mongolian tribes and other aspects is the practice process of this academic viewpoint. His academic thought reflects the dialectical relationship between Chinese culture, such as kinship, influence, infiltration, diversity of "harmony but difference" and "Chinese unity". In the field of anthropology (ethnology), he emphasized the standardization of ethnographic research, that is, detailed description, explanation and comparative study of first-hand materials through field visits; We strongly oppose replacing the only empirical evidence of anthropology/folk culture research with the text of philology, refusing field trips and playing with old paper piles to make fakes.
