Die Design Paper —— How to design the stamping die for the cover pad?
1、

Key points of design In order to fully ensure the quality and dimensional accuracy of the parts, the following points should be paid attention to when designing and determining the structure of the drawing die.

The drawing height should be calculated accurately, and the die structure should have a safety margin, so that the workpiece can still adapt when it is slightly higher. 2)

The drawing punch must have an air outlet. Pay attention that the air outlet cannot be wrapped by the workpiece and lose its function. 3)

The height of the drawing parts with flange depends on the stroke of the upper die, and a stopper should be designed in the die to facilitate the adjustment of the die. 4)

The mould base of symmetrical workpiece should be obviously asymmetrical to prevent the upper and lower dies from being assembled wrongly, and the assembly position of convex and concave dies of non-rotating workpiece must be accurate and feasible, so as to avoid rotating displacement after loosening, affecting the quality of workpiece and even damaging the die. 5)

For parts with complex shapes that need to be drawn many times, it is necessary to make a drawing die first, and then make a blanking die after determining the appropriate blank shape and size through pressure test, and design and install a positioning device on the drawing die according to the formed blank. 6)

Elastic material pressing equipment must be limited to prevent excessive material pressing force. 7)

Mold structure and materials should be suitable for this batch of parts. 8)

Both mould base and mould parts should be standardized. 9)

Putting in and taking out workpieces must be convenient and safe. 2、

Drawing method and process calculation of flanged cylindrical parts The drawing principle of flanged cylindrical parts is the same as that of ordinary cylindrical parts, but the drawing method and calculation method are different from those of ordinary cylindrical parts because of the flange. 1)

Flange drawing parts can be regarded as semi-finished products of general cylindrical parts before drawing is completed, that is, the drawing process ends only when the outer diameter of the blank is drawn to be equal to the flange edge (flange) diameter df. Therefore, the pressure state and deformation characteristics of its deformation zone should be the same as those of cylindrical parts.
