I. Training objectives
This major aims to cultivate high-level, applied and compound translators who can meet the needs of national economic, social, cultural and educational development, have good academic literacy and solid professional skills, and can meet the needs of related professional fields. Specific target: 1. Have a rigorous knowledge structure, broad humanistic vision and good professional quality; 2. Have the ability to solve practical problems in cultural, scientific and commercial translation by applying the theories and methods learned; 3. Be able to design, organize, manage and evaluate medium-sized translation projects; 4. Have the comprehensive ability to use corpus and translation software for computer-aided translation; 5. Have good critical thinking ability and be able to write empirical research reports or academic papers based on translation practice.
Second, the length of study and the length of study: the length of study is 3 years. Those who are allowed to postpone graduation will have a maximum study period of 5 years.
Third, the learning requirements
1. Students are required to complete all kinds of courses specified in this training plan in the first three semesters;
2. Students must pass the National Translation Professional Qualification Examination Level 2 (translation) during their school days;
3. Students are required to complete 40,000-word translation exercises during reading and publish 4000-word translations;
4. Students are required to participate in professional practice for a total of 6 months during their school days, and the evaluation results must be good;
5. Ask students to enter the degree translation practice in the fourth semester and participate in the translation project organized by the tutor;
6. Students are required to write and complete translation empirical research reports or academic papers in the fifth semester.

Practice of degree translation of verbs (abbreviation of verb)
Degree project translation is a compulsory translation practice project under the guidance of tutors, and it is a standard to test students' practical operation ability. Students are required to independently undertake English-Chinese or Chinese-English translation, and complete 80,000 Chinese characters or 60,000 English words within the specified time under the guidance of the tutor.
Six, degree translation research reports or academic papers
Students are required to independently write a translation empirical research report or an academic paper with a length of 5000 English words in English according to the translation experience of the degree translation project before graduation. The report (thesis) should conform to the general norms of academic papers in style, and can reflect the professional quality and ability of comprehensively applying discipline theories, methods and technologies to solve practical translation problems. After the report (thesis) has passed the expert review, it will be submitted to the defense Committee to participate in the degree defense.
Seven. Degree conferring
Students can apply for a master's degree in translation after completing 30 credits within the prescribed time limit, completing the translation of degree programs and empirical research reports or academic papers, and passing the defense. Approved by the Education Center of Master of Translation of Xi International Studies University and academic degree evaluation committee, he was awarded the professional degree of Master of Translation.
