To achieve this, we must first adhere to the guiding position of Marxism in the ideological field. We should see that since the reform and opening up, the party and the state have done a lot of work in socialist ideals and beliefs and made great achievements, which ideologically ensured the socialist direction of China's modernization drive. However, we should also see that for a long time, some party member cadres have experienced a "crisis of faith" to varying degrees, and some people doubt and oppose socialism. There are "six negative tendencies" in the national mentality, such as materialism, vulgarity, restlessness, indifference, irresponsibility and false exaggeration. In the process of market economy construction, people with different economic relations and interests have appeared in society, which inevitably leads to the trend of cultural diversity and becomes an important aspect of social disharmony. Facing such a basic national condition, maintaining social harmony and developing the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people, we must ensure the guiding position of Marxism in the ideological field and guide all the people to establish the Socialism with Chinese characteristics ideal. Therefore, the construction of harmonious culture has distinct ideological content and orientation. Secondly, we should advocate the concept of harmony and cultivate the spirit of harmony. The establishment of the socialist core value system aims at leading various social thoughts to the maximum extent and forming social ideology, which is one aspect of the problem. At the same time, the socialist core value system is open, not "autocracy" or "absolute centralization", but emphasizes "leading" to multiple values. Its construction should also proceed from the national conditions, "respect differences and tolerate diversity." The resolution puts forward: "To build a harmonious society, we should establish a socialist concept of honor and disgrace with" eight honors and eight disgraces "as the main content, form a fashion of knowing honor and shame, stressing righteousness and promoting harmony in the whole society, and form interpersonal relationships of equality between men and women, respecting the elderly and caring for the young, helping the poor and helping the poor, courtesy and tolerance." We know that the ideological and moral level of a nation can best reflect the basic spirit of a nation and best represent the degree of civilization of a country and a nation. Since the reform and opening up, the mainstream of ideological and moral construction in China has been positive, healthy and upward. However, we should also see that with the establishment of the socialist market economy, people's moral norms and lifestyles have undergone profound changes, and some areas and places have confused the boundaries between right and wrong, beauty and ugliness, and money worship, hedonism and extreme individualism have grown and spread. Building a harmonious society objectively requires the formation of a good cultural atmosphere in the whole society that advocates science, encourages innovation and opposes superstition and pseudoscience. In addition, we should actively deepen the reform of the cultural system, always put social benefits first, and strengthen the construction of public welfare cultural facilities. A harmonious socialist society is a society built and shared by all the people.
