Guang Mei, located in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is the only art college in southern China approved by the Ministry of Education and has the right to award master's degrees. Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, formerly known as Central South Academy of Fine Arts, 1953 was established in Wuhan, Hubei Province with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education.
