Zhang Xingang is a world-famous expert in biomedical engineering. He has written more than 100 academic papers, edited two research monographs and held a Canadian government patent. He used to be the president of the American Society of Biomedical Engineering and a foreign academician of the Royal Institute of Engineering. The author has fully practiced the belief of "the integration of technology and culture" in his personal education and work. He is proficient in Chinese, English and French, and has a deep understanding of the development history of Chinese and Western cultures and societies. After busy work, he often writes down his observations and opinions on society, education, science and technology, culture and life in both Chinese and English. Because of his promotion of Sino-French cultural exchanges and his professional achievements, he was awarded the French National Legion of Honor by the French government. He was also awarded the gold bauhinia star by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
