(1) When editing to a step where a horizontal line appears (for example, press Enter to see a horizontal line), just press Ctrl+Z? (This is to cancel AutoFormat). ?
(2) If you can select the horizontal line but cannot delete it, you can set the color of the horizontal line to white. So you can't see it yourself, and it won't be displayed when printed.
