Since the 1990s, he has devoted himself to the study of medieval philosophy with rich research results, and is one of the main representatives of Augustine studies in China. The main academic viewpoints include: first, Augustine's questioning about freedom and time is a milestone in the history of western philosophy and has epoch-making influence. Secondly, Abela and Thomas greatly promoted and developed Augustine's voluntarism. Thirdly, the main contribution of medieval philosophy is moral philosophy, which is the concentrated embodiment of its legitimacy. Fourth, love, freedom and responsibility are three key words of medieval moral philosophy and their effects.

Response to the book: After the publication of the monograph "Holy Call: A Study of Augustine's Religious Anthropology", famous scholars Fu Youde, Li and Wang wrote comments in philosophical trends, hebei academic journal and social science forum respectively, calling the book "a supplement to western philosophy", "a pioneering work of medieval philosophy" and "a masterpiece of Augustine's research". The monograph Freedom, Mind and Time: A Textual Research on Augustine's Mind Turn was published on 20 10, and was selected into the Pure Philosophy Series of Phoenix Library through expert evaluation, 2011reprint. The book and its related achievements were cited 3 times by CNKI and 3 times by CSSCI. Hu Wannian wrote a book review on the topic of "the subtle meaning of Augustine's philosophy" and published it in Journal of Hebei Normal University, No.6, 20 12. The monograph "Love, Freedom and Responsibility: Moral Interpretation of Medieval Philosophy" is the final achievement of the national social science fund project, and was finally selected into the 20 14 philosophical and social science achievement database.

Translation and research in the field of modern German philosophy mainly focus on Kant, Fichte, Gadamer and Jonas. He is the main representative of Jonas research; The important article about Fichte's research has been affirmed by Professor Liang Zhixue, a famous Fichte expert in China Academy of Social Sciences.
