In the aspect of paying attention to local art, we constantly combed and studied the local art creation in Shenzhen, and carefully planned solo exhibitions and group exhibitions of various local artists, which fully demonstrated the fruitful creative achievements of local painters in Shenzhen. In addition, Shenzhen Art Museum continues to hold a series of exhibitions of famous artists from China to witness the changes, development, inheritance and transformation of China art in the times.

Shenzhen Art Museum has been paying attention to the present situation of contemporary artistic creation and critical theory, and has a keen observation on the problems of contemporary art circles, thus putting forward some problems worthy of extensive attention and consideration by the art circles. In addition to contemporary art exhibitions, holding an art gallery forum is also a major measure for Shenzhen Art Museum to implement its academic orientation. Shenzhen Art Museum Forum is held every two years. Up to now, several art gallery forums have been successfully held, and many papers related to the theme of the forum have been published, such as New Vision of Art and Art and Society. This series of academic activities not only enlivened the atmosphere of artistic criticism, but also promoted the further development of contemporary artistic creation and contemporary artistic criticism in China to some extent. The theoretical articles on the focus of art circles in different periods in related papers provide theoretical support and help for in-depth study and understanding of contemporary art in China.
