There are many kinds of electric soldering irons with different structures, but their internal structures are all composed of heating part, heat storage part and handle.

-Heat storage part. The heat storage part of electric soldering iron is commonly called welding head. After obtaining heat from the heating part, the temperature gradually rises and the heat continuously accumulates. The welding head is usually made of copper or copper alloy.
Handle part. The handle of the soldering iron is in direct contact with the operator, so it is convenient for the operator to operate flexibly and comfortably. Handles are generally made of wood, bakelite or high-temperature resistant plastics, and are usually made into straight and pistol types. According to the heating mode, it can be divided into two categories: external heating and internal heating.
According to the power, there are 20W, 30W, ... 300W and so on.
From the function of electric soldering iron, there are many kinds, such as single temperature type, temperature regulation type and tin absorption function type. 2. 1 external heating electric soldering iron
The iron core (heating element) is wound with a resistance wire on a spool insulated by a thin mica sheet, and the welding head is installed in the iron core, so it is called an external heating electric soldering iron. For example, we often use 45W and 60W soldering irons:
2.2 Internal heating electric soldering iron
The core (heating element) is installed in the welding head, wrapped by the welding head and directly heats the welding head. The nickel-chromium wire and insulating porcelain tube of the internal heating type electric soldering iron core (heating element) are relatively thin, so the mechanical strength is worse than that of the external heating type, and it is not resistant to impact. Don't knock or pry at will when using, and don't clamp the heating tube with pliers to avoid accidents.
2.3 Constant temperature electric soldering iron
The temperature control circuit is added on the basis of the internal heating electric soldering iron to keep the temperature of the electric soldering iron constant within a certain range.
2.4 Temperature regulating electric soldering iron
Ordinary internal heating soldering iron is added with a power and constant temperature controller (generally adjusted by SCR circuit). When in use, the input power of the power supply can be changed, and the adjustable temperature range is 100 ~ 400℃. Suitable for welding small electronic components and printed circuits. 2.5 Hot air soldering iron
It's also called a hot air gun, not an electric soldering iron. It uses hot air as a heat source. When the soldering iron works, it sends out directional hot air, and the space near the hot air heats up at this time to achieve the purpose of welding.
When using the hot air soldering iron, adjust the temperature and air volume to the required values, and then move the tuyere to the vicinity of the patch component to be removed. When the tin spot of the component melts, the component to be removed can be removed, and then a new component can be repaired and welded.
