How do international students do their homework? Homework in Europe and America is usually divided into two forms: one is a short essay and the other is a report. Their forms are different, but they are basically the same. Usually, the regulations on paper writing promulgated by the school will clearly stipulate whether an assignment should be written in the form of a paper or report. Therefore, when reading the requirements of the topic, you must be as careful as possible, otherwise you will lose points because of the format.
Similarities between the two formats:
1. font: Times New Roman, font size: small four, line spacing: 1.5 times. Please adjust these formats before writing, so as to avoid unnecessary trouble caused by adjustment after writing.
2. Blank lines between paragraphs. Each paragraph is not required to be as blank as Chinese writing, but written directly at the top. There are some similarities below, which I will discuss when I discuss the two styles separately.
The difference between the two formats:
First, the essay:
Writing a short essay is easier than reporting. It usually consists of three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction includes the background of the topic and the main problems to be solved in the article, which usually accounts for about 10% of the total words. The text accounts for about 80% of the total words. If there are specific requirements in the topic, just discuss them one by one according to the aspects mentioned in the topic. Some topics are written according to their own ideas and have no specific requirements. But it needs to be logical. The conclusion also accounts for 10%. In this paragraph, summarize the main points of the article in one or two sentences. You don't need to write a title or make the subtitle bold. The writing of references involves these two forms, so I'll save them for the last.
Second, the report:
Its writing is generally similar to essay, but it is more demanding.
1. Title page: includes title and executive summary. In the executive summary, it is the summary of the article, and these two parts generally occupy one page.
2. Subject: the main body of the report. The first three are similar to essay, except that there is a part behind the conclusion called suggestion, which is a suggestion to the question raised.
If there is no separate requirement in the topic, it is generally written according to these parts, but some topics will be specified. Please write down which parts according to the requirements of the topic.
How to write a recommendation letter
Reference is what teachers value most, so please pay attention to it.
1. No matter how many spaces are left on the last page of the previous paragraph, the references should be written on a new page;
2. There should be a blank line between each reference. If a reference line can't write one line, then the following lines should be three spaces in the first line. Please refer to the requirements in the reference materials I sent for the basic format;
3. References should be arranged in alphabetical order. You can use the reference of reference at the end;
Divided into direct reference and indirect reference. To quote directly is to use the original words in an article or book. Please mark with (year, page number) after the author. If there is no author, mark the quoted sentence with (author's name, year, page number). Indirect quotation refers to opinions in published articles or books. The citation method is the same as direct citation, except that there is no need to mark the page number.
In short, referencesq must not be fabricated, it must be true. Foreign countries are very strict about this issue. Once fraud or plagiarism is found, the party concerned will be expelled from the school and compensated.
