Abstract: The service plane is put forward to meet the increasing complexity of the next generation network. In this paper, the adaptive service plane extension in NGON is deeply studied. First of all, through the analysis of network development trend and future business characteristics, the principle of introducing business plane is clarified. In order to adapt to the development of optical network, the adaptive technology is expounded. Then, through the description of service adaptability, a service-oriented NGON adaptive framework is constructed. Then, according to the extraction of service plane functional requirements, the service plane functional elements are constructed, and the process of accessing services is explained. Through the research of this paper, it provides a reference for further study of service optical networks. ? SPIE in 2008
