Reading Nan's The Analects of Confucius-Filial Piety
We should be filial because of inherit the wind.

Is that so?

A Confucius said: he is also a filial brother, but he is easy to make mistakes, which is rare; Those who are not good at making mistakes but are good at making trouble are not good at making mistakes. The business of a gentleman is based on this; Filial piety is also the foundation of benevolence.

First of all, filial piety is the foundation of human beings, and benevolence and filial piety are the foundation of Confucius' knowledge. But "filial piety" is one of the "charges" that Kongjiadian will be overthrown.

Why does filial piety become one of the crimes that have been defeated? One thing to know first is that Sima Qian's compilation of Historical Records is a great event. At that time, he was disgusted with some practices of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, but he had to obey them. Obey? Conscience, wrote "Historical Records", put his thoughts into "Historical Records". If you still remember the emperor, it is called this season. He also listed Xiang Yu, who was not the emperor, in this century, meaning that Emperor Gaozu and Xiang Yu were successful heroes and failed heroes. Another example is the "aristocratic family" in Historical Records, which was originally a record of princes and ministers. Confucius was not a vassal, but also included in the aristocratic family. Sima Qian means that Confucius has a strong enterprising spirit, saying that his words and deeds will have an impact on future generations, so he was included in the aristocratic family.

Confucius' thoughts, words and deeds are reflected in many books, and the most important work of Confucius is Spring and Autumn Annals. After he wrote the Spring and Autumn Annals, the two most important sentences were: "Those who know me in the Spring and Autumn Annals will blame me in the Spring and Autumn Annals." Throughout the ages, these two sentences have their own interpretations, both of which are ambiguous, and have been clarified in our time. Why? Since this democratic era, everyone has accused Confucius of helping the autocratic emperor because the ideology and system of the autocratic emperor used the spirit of Confucius' "respecting the monarch". When we knocked him down later, we thought he was like this. Reading Chunqiu now is not the same as studying Confucius' thoughts, and there is another reason.

Secondly, we talk about filial piety, which is the spirit of China culture. At this point, I want to tell two realistic stories.

More than ten years ago, a doctoral student at Harvard University gave me a paper on China culture. Before he returned to China, I asked him to go back to the United States to advocate filial piety in China culture. He said it was difficult. I told him that this is a thousand-year career, not a secular achievement, and told him what filial piety is.

I said that China people stress filial piety, and "a father is kind to his son" is relative. The father is kind to his son, and the son loves his father in return for filial piety. Brothers, friends and brothers respect each other like guests. Brothers are kind to their younger brothers, and younger brothers naturally love them. Later, we talked about filial piety: "You should be filial, inherit the wind." There is something wrong with this statement. There are indeed some "wrong parents" in the world. Why are there no "wrong parents"? This is not the thought of Confucius and Mencius, but the hat of Confucius and Mencius was borrowed by others, and the Kongjiadian was knocked down. These mistakes have suffered greatly.

Heather went on to say that all animals in the world, including the original human beings, will do their best to raise their offspring and will not care about each other when they grow up.

The reason why human beings are different from all other species in the world lies in the humanistic culture formed in the evolution from generation to generation.

This shows the value of culture and the importance of humanistic culture education.

Westerners often call themselves the cross-cultural next generation. As we all know, America is a paradise for children, a shopping center for middle-aged people (equal to a casino) and a graveyard for the elderly. Today, this is the crystallization of western culture. All I know is that I love the next generation. The next generation will be lovers when they grow up and get married. I don't care about my parents, brothers and sisters. From men and women to husband and wife, and family, society, country, sideways to the world, love children, and so on. They think they are a cross culture. I think this cross is broken, which is the culture of T-frame, because there is no upper part. ..... The United States was founded only 200 years ago, and we have a history of more than 5,000 years. When it comes to humanities and culture, experience, especially the history of China, has been somewhat failed and broken. Until now, this cultural system has been completed. Of course, they don't admit that cross-culture has no top, because there is God on it. But you can't see or touch it. Who can believe it? We admit that God exists, but in China culture, the bridge between man and God is filial piety. What is filial piety? It is what their western culture calls "love", that is, the return of love. In other words, parents are like two friends who have taken care of you for 20 years. Now they are old and can't move. You come back and take care of them. This is filial piety. The spirit of filial piety is here. If a person doesn't even feel this way, it won't work.

So does western culture have this kind of love? Absolutely. Just a different lifestyle. ..... Foreigners have no psychological construction to cultivate "filial piety" in culture.

The problem of filial piety has been solved. What is a "brother"? "Brother" is the love of brothers and sisters. China's five ethics include monarch and minister, father and son, couple, brother and friend. Four of these five morals are reasonable. Why should we add the ethics of being friends? This is the characteristic of China culture. Friends also have a place in Wu Lun's thoughts. Why? Sometimes I have a lot of words, feelings and pains, so I can't tell my parents in the world, nor my wife and children in my next life. I can only find friends, so friends are one of the five ethics. Friends are the combination of feelings, which is a characteristic of China culture. This "brother" includes friendship with brothers and sisters, all the way to friends and society.

Next, Shi Nan talked about the ideas in "The University"-honesty, self-cultivation, keeping the family in order, governing the country and leveling the world, among which "keeping the family in order" is the social thought. China's "Qijia" family is a family with extended family system, which has the connotation of clan and clan, and the "Qijia" family is a society.

A son said that whether a person has knowledge depends on whether he can be filial to his parents and be friendly to his brothers, sisters and friends.

"Few people are good at making mistakes", and making mistakes is making trouble-people who are "filial brothers" have deep feelings, and such people are not good at making trouble.

We should pay attention to this point. Some people object to asking for warmth. Why do they oppose Confucius and Mencius? Because they don't believe that there is such emotional power in the world. The "emotional power" in China culture is enormous, especially the clan. ……

Therefore, son, it is impossible to say that people with true temperament will not commit the crisis, and it is not easy to commit the crisis, because such people are measured and limited.

So, what is the essence of learning? "The gentleman is based on business." Good literature and wide knowledge are small things. The way to learn lies in the foundation of being a man, the foundation of life and the inner cultivation. Therefore, learning is to cultivate this kind of filial piety, which is not a dogma. In other words, to cultivate the glorious love, the "loved" and the "most affectionate" side of human nature, the so-called "filial piety is also the foundation of human beings", he said is the foundation of human beings. As for what is "benevolence", there are special articles below, which will not be discussed for the time being.

This "benevolence" is the highest purpose of Confucius' study.

About filial piety-

The lamb kneels to feed, and the crow feeds back.

You raised me young and I raised you old.

Filial piety is natural.
