Zhang Yuanlong (1910-1966) was born in Fengqiu, Henan. 1936 graduated from the Agricultural College of Henan University and stayed as a teaching assistant. 194 1 promoted lecturer, 1947 promoted associate professor, 1957 promoted professor, level 4 of higher education. After liberation, he served as an associate professor of microbiology, director of microbiology teaching and research section and deputy director of agriculture department in Henan Agricultural College. He is the author of Microbiology, and has published academic papers such as Studies on Rhizosphere Microbes of Wheat, Rhizosphere Microbes and Higher Plants, Cultivation Process of Microphysiological Race of Huangqu and Its Role in Brewing. Excellent strains of soybean rhizobia and autotrophic nitrogen-fixing bacteria living in wheat rhizosphere have been screened out successively, which greatly improved the yield of soybean, cotton and other crops and his simple production method of bacterial fertilizer. These achievements have been rapidly popularized and applied in many provinces and cities in China, and made great contributions to agricultural production in China. 1959 During the low-standard period, he developed "artificial meat" by exerting his expertise in microbiology and exhibited it at the provincial food conference. He was once rated as a model worker in the hospital, commended at the Henan Model Worker Conference, and received by Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou. He used to be a member of CPPCC.
