School of Nuclear Science and Technology of Harbin Engineering University was established in June 5438+February 65438+February 2005. It is the first "Nuclear College" established by a key university in China, and it is also one of the earliest universities in China to offer nuclear specialty. From 65438 to 0959, "Harbin Military Industry" set up the specialty of nuclear power plant, and its professional task was to train professionals engaged in scientific research, design, development and operation in China's nuclear power field.

The college now has five undergraduate majors, including nuclear engineering and technology, nuclear reactor engineering, nuclear chemical engineering and nuclear fuel engineering, nuclear technology and radiation protection, and environmental engineering. There are 1 first-class postdoctoral research mobile stations in nuclear science and technology, 1 doctoral degree authorization points in nuclear energy science and engineering, radiation protection and environmental protection, nuclear technology and application, nuclear fuel cycle and materials, among which "2 18" is for nuclear energy science and engineering, radiation protection and environmental protection. It has the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the Ministry of Education's "11Subject Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Base", national defense key subject laboratory, Heilongjiang provincial key laboratory, undergraduate experimental teaching center and so on. The College has reached an agreement with the School of Energy of Kyoto University, Okayama University, data transmission unit, and the Norwegian Institute of Energy Technology IFE(OECD NEA Halden Project) for cooperative research and exchange of graduate students, which can provide conditions for students to go abroad for academic exchanges and international cooperative research. The National Atomic Energy Agency (CAEA) cooperated with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to implement the IAEA -CAEA nuclear energy education project in Harbin Engineering University to train nuclear professionals in China and developing countries.
