Does alpine skiing originate in the Alps in Europe?
Alpine skiing originated in the Alps in Europe, so it is also called alpine skiing. Around 2500 BC, the earliest snowboarding appeared in Sweden, and the images of skiers or soldiers appeared in early rock paintings in northern Norway, so people always thought that skiing originated in northern Europe.

There are also ski trails in Altay, Xinjiang, China. Kazakh and Mongolian herders there are still "flying away" in the snow with "wool skis" wrapped in horse's leg skin.

China's ancient geography book Shan Hai Jing describes a minority named Dingling in Altay. Ski rock paintings with people stepping on double boards and holding single sticks were found in the caves here. Historians conservatively estimate that it has a history of at least/kloc-0,000,000 years after identification.

Extended data

Project history:

1850, the rotation used to change direction and stop taxiing appeared in the Telemark area in southern Norway. In the same year, the first downhill skiing competition in the original form of alpine skiing was held in Kristiania.

1868, Sang Nordheim led several young people to perform sideslip and "S"-shaped rapid gyration descent at the Norwegian Ski Conference in Oslo. They set off from the top of the mountain, used ski poles, quickly bypassed obstacles and accelerated down the hillside.

In the late 1980s, under the influence of polar explorer Friedrich Nansen, skiing rose rapidly in the Alps. At this time, some skiers began to explore new techniques and methods suitable for skiing in alpine areas.

1890, Daski invented short snowboarding and gliding techniques suitable for the Alps in the Lilienfeld Mountains in the southwest of Vienna.

1896, Daski wrote a paper about his research results and published it in Alpine Skiing Technology. Daski is also called the pioneer of alpine skiing technology and the founder of alpine skiing.
