Graduated from the Department of Sociology of Sun Yat-sen University in 2003, and worked in Oriental Morning Post and Private Geography.
Engaged in translation and writing since 2007. So far, he has translated more than 20 books, such as Dialogue with God, Being Friends with God, The Kite Runner, The Decline of Men, and The Stranger's Side, a collection of foreign literary criticism.
He published many academic papers in college. The masterpiece Beyond Power: Rethinking the Concept of Relationship was published in Sociological Research sponsored by Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (No.3, 2003), and was cited by him for more than 70 times.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of classical poetry creation, and his related interests extend to the field of ancient book collation. At present, Xuan Ji in Autumn Water and Selected Works of Two Dangs are being proofread.
His main achievement is in the field of literary translation. His works include popular novels such as The Kite Runner and Analysis of Murder, difficult social science works such as Decline of Man and New Capitalist Culture, touching new era classics such as Talking to God and Being Friends with God, and Poverty.
In addition to the above four aspects of work, Li Jihong also used his spare time to write articles for many domestic newspapers, and his essays and book reviews were scattered in Southern Weekend and Oriental Morning Post Shanghai Book Review.
In view of his outstanding performance in sociology as a student and his outstanding achievements in literary translation and creation, his deeds have been reported by domestic and foreign publications such as Sociological Research, Sun Yat-sen University School Newspaper, The New York Times, The New Yorker, China Daily, Wen Wei Po, Oriental Morning Post and Du Nan Weekly.
Li Jihong has reached a cooperation with Hangzhou Guomai Culture Media Co., Ltd. and is translating a series of foreign literary masterpieces, tentatively 20 kinds. The first batch of The Old Man and the Sea, The Little Prince, Animal Farm, The Great Gatsby and Walden Lake have been published, and others include The Moon and Sixpence, Jane Eyre and Portrait of Young Artists.
On the afternoon of April 22nd, 20 15, Paris time, at the invitation of Antoine de Saint-Exupé ry, the author of The Little Prince, Qu Hongbin, president of Guomai Culture, and Li Jihong, a famous translator, went to Lyon, France, the hometown of the author of The Little Prince, and held a certification signing ceremony with Olivier Daguai, founder and chairman of the Saint-Exupery Foundation. So far, it marks that the Chinese version of The Little Prince, produced by Guomai Culture and translated by Li Jihong, has won the support and recommendation of the French Saint-Exupé ry Foundation, becoming the only officially recognized simplified Chinese translation.
