But there are few descriptions of other contemporary leaders. After that, the works with the theme of the second, third and fourth generations of leaders gradually decreased, generally related to an event. These works were published in official magazines, and it was the first time that I tried to collect them and study them together. After combing the works on the theme of leaders after the founding of the People's Republic of China, we have an intuitive feeling: after more than 20 years of enthusiastic description, the works on the theme of leaders have gradually become silent and have been neglected for almost ten years. In the early 1990s, they appeared in another form, which was very different from that of ten years ago. Young painters born 70 years later are fresher in depicting leaders, which makes this theme calm from the fiery past. The introduction part of this paper first puts forward the phenomenon of leader-themed works, and expounds my point of view: the appearance of this phenomenon is closely related to social changes. In particular, the prominence and weakening of politics in different periods led to the overheating and silence of the theme of leaders. That is, from the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC) to before, during and after the Cultural Revolution.
