Considering the amount of reading, I bought a book for children's class called "Insect Tales", and I read several insects in one breath. The author's prose style brought me into the world of insects, and I became interested in the author while learning about some exquisite worlds of insects. What made the author write so many words about insects?
I read a lot of information about the author's entomology law on the internet, and I pay tribute to the author.
Fabres was a famous French entomologist in the19th century. He was born in a poor peasant family, and he liked animals and plants, especially insects, since he was a child. He didn't go to a regular university, but mainly taught himself. He studied insects hard and became fascinated in his later years. He successively wrote insect notes (10 volumes), introducing people to the living habits of more than 400 kinds of insects and animals. "
In the preface written by Wang Guang, the translator of Insects, he wrote:
Fabres encountered two major problems in his life, one was "prejudice" and the other was "poverty". Fabres was diligent and enterprising, and changed from a peasant descendant to a middle school teacher. After that, I taught myself amateur, and it took 12 years to get a bachelor's degree, a double bachelor's degree and a doctor's degree. He has been teaching in middle schools for more than 20 years, while observing and studying insects and plants in his spare time, and has published excellent papers. He sacrificed almost everything. It is necessary to carry out insect psychology research aimed at exploring the problem of "instinct" hard.
Fables compared the unknown world to an infinite mosaic picture in the dark, and compared scientists to explorers holding lanterns to take care of this picture. He thinks he is an explorer, moving step by step, illuminating the square bricks one by one, and gradually increasing the area of known composition. In the dark, exposing the unknown is exposing the truth, and seeing the law of things will grasp the truth. It is true that Fabres devoted himself to this great cause of revealing and grasping "truth-truth". If we say that solving the proposition of "the essence of insect instinct" is exploring a truth, then we can say that in order to know this truth, Fabres has been revealing this truth all his life. Exposing the truth for the sake of knowing the truth has become the highest ideal and lofty labor of Fabres's life, and he feels happy and comforted for it. In this spirit, he gathered all his qualities and talents and made his own unique contribution to mankind. Don't feel sorry for his death. Everything about him is concentrated in entomology.
Fabrice once asked a question: "Is it worth suffering just to survive?"
He has answered the question why he suffered when he was ninety-two years old:
Facing prejudice, being accompanied by poverty, and not afraid of sacrifice, offense and forgetting are all for the sake of truth. Seeking truth, seeking truth, can be described as "seeking truth". Seeking truth is the spirit of Fabres.
Reading a good book is like forming a deep friendship with the author. This is "spiritual friendship". Reading every story is like following Fabres into this insect world. It's like I've become a bug myself.
Parent-child reading is very good, which gives adults and children a topic of communication. When my daughter and I talked about the stories inside, many of them had the same interests. What impressed me most was the cunning of poisonous spiders and the cleverness of Fables. Fables lured the poisonous spider out in a very clever way, which was her deepest impression on her daughter. There are many such examples.
Now people are more aware of protecting our planet, caring for the environment and how to educate children. Simple preaching is of little use. Let children read more books like insects, and children will learn about all kinds of animals and plants, and they will understand that we share the same earth.
The change of environment is a disaster for animals. A few years ago, cicadas could be caught everywhere in the city. Now I can only hear a few cries. Maybe this cicada violin music will disappear in a few years. If we don't take care of our environment, Fabres can't write about insects even if he is alive.
