The tower vividly depicts the victory over the flood. At the top of the tower is a circular sculpture composed of intellectuals of workers, peasants and soldiers, which shows the heroic image of overcoming the flood. 1998 Summer, a once-in-a-century flood occurred in Harbin, with the highest water level reaching 120.89 meters. Harbin military and civilians fought in unity, once again defeated the catastrophic flood and defended their homes. Now the golden circular arc tube on the tower is the water level sign of 120.89 meters. In order to further enhance the cultural atmosphere of the flood control memorial tower square, 1990 installed a group of large-scale music-controlled colorful fountains in the pool in front of the tower, adding a great landscape to Harbin.

Harbin Saint Sophia Church
