On Lin Weiyin's Papers
She, a talented woman who was missed by Xu Zhimo, deeply loved by Liang Sicheng and remembered by Jin all her life. So she was also marked: Xu Zhimo's infatuation object, Liang Sicheng's wife, and Jin's love. When all eyes were focused on these three people, they forgot that she was actually an architect, poet and writer in China. In that gloomy era of war, she lived out her unique elegance and beauty. She is a woman with a clever smile, beautiful eyes and poetic appearance-Lin Yin Hui.

On June 1904, Lin was born in a bureaucratic intellectual family in Minhou, Fujian. Grandfather Lin Xiaoyao was a scholar in Guangxu fifteen years. He served as an official in Zhejiang and was one of the pioneers of establishing a new school in the late Qing Dynasty. Because of this, from his early years, Lin was not only inspired by Chinese studies, but also by new studies. And she, at a young age, has shown extraordinary comprehension ability.

/kloc-When she was 0/6 years old, she visited Western Europe with her father Lin Changmin. Lin Changmin hopes that her daughter can increase her knowledge and broaden her horizons. It was this trip to western Europe that not only made Lin feel the taste of love, but also gave her a hazy vision of her future career. This is what we later know as architecture. She devoted all her life to filling many gaps in China's architecture at that time, leaving a lot of wealth for future generations.

While living in London, a young man named Xu Zhimo came to visit Lin Changmin. Lin never imagined that Xu Zhimo suddenly broke into her life. It never occurred to her that she would say so many things to men other than her father that she had never said before.

They talked about almost everything, from Keats to Bernard Shaw, from Germans to Englishmen. Moreover, Xu Zhimo's unrestrained and enthusiastic storytelling style deeply attracted Lin. Lin's talent also attracted Xu Zhimo.

When Xu Zhimo enthusiastically pursued Lin, Lin refused. She knows that she likes Xu Zhimo to some extent. Because Xu Zhimo opened the door to a new world for her. In that world, there are her favorite literary masters, such as Shelley and Byron.

However, as a woman who grew up under traditional ethics, she would never do anything to destroy other people's families. At that time, Xu Zhimo had a wife and a 2-year-old son. Although later, Xu Zhimo chose to divorce, he did not return to Lin's heart.

This is related to Lin's family environment. When she was very young, she knew that her father didn't like her mother. Mother is the daughter of a businessman and father is the son of a scholarly family. Moreover, my mother didn't have a boy, so she couldn't get her husband's love and her mother-in-law's love at home. All I know is that I cried all day. Later, my father married another wife, and the new wife gave birth to a boy, which was quite loved by my father, and my mother only scolded her with tears. This has had a great impact on her life.

So, in the autumn of 192 1, Lin returned to China with his father.

Some people may ask, did Lin like Xu Zhimo? In my opinion, Lin likes Xu Zhimo, but it is even more unfortunate to meet the right person at the wrong time. However, it is not easy for Lin to turn this misfortune into a lifelong friendship. In Lin's world, Xu Zhimo plays more like an enlightenment teacher and mentor. Based on this, Lin began to write new poems in 1930s, and gradually entered the poetry world.

Liang Sicheng, the second man in Lin Sheng's life, is also the man who accompanied her to the old age. He is the eldest son of Liang Qichao and a family friend of Lin. Both of them belong to the same family and are influenced by western democratic ideas. They have a high degree of consistency in cherishing China's traditional culture and liking architecture. Both parents looked at the couple and were very happy.

However, just when they were deeply in love, an unexpected trouble made Liang Sicheng carry a king kong vest all his life and endure the pain. It is said that misfortune comes from the mouth and happiness comes from the mouth. The disaster brought the distance between the two young people closer. It was also during this period that they planned to study architecture abroad.

At this point, Lin and Liang Sicheng did not know that this choice turned out to be a lifelong choice. In the future, they never felt hard when looking for ancient buildings, but every time they saw amazing ancient buildings, the excitement was beyond words. It is their persistent search again and again that laid a solid foundation for the compilation of China Architecture in the future.

The year after Liang Sicheng was injured, they went to the University of Pennsylvania together. Liang Sicheng studied architecture, while the architecture department of Penn University only accepted boys, not girls. Lin transferred to the Department of Fine Arts and took the main courses of the Department of Architecture.

In the past few years, there have been bad news overseas. Liang Sicheng's mother died of breast cancer, and Lin's father was killed by a stray bullet in an ambush. Perhaps from then on, Lin gradually matured, knowing that love is not just about flowers and moons, but more about helping each other and supporting each other. Fortunately, Liang Sicheng stayed with her from beginning to end and accompanied her through a difficult time.

However, Liang Sicheng's father, Liang Qichao, was seriously ill, and his health went from bad to worse because of the wrong cut of his normal kidney in Union Medical College Hospital. He died prematurely at the age of 57. At that time, Lin and Liang Sicheng had founded the Department of Architecture of Northeastern University and had been professors of the Department of Architecture.

1928, on March 2 1 day, Lin and Liang Sicheng got married in Vancouver, Canada. After they got married, under the arrangement of Liang Qichao, they visited the architectural monuments in France, Italy, Rome and other countries, and got in close contact, which made them understand how important the soil of classical culture is. This can be said to be their first real field experience.

Half a year later, the husband and wife returned to China and were employed by the Department of Architecture of Northeastern University. Soon, his father Liang Qichao died, Lin became pregnant and his first child was born. Later, due to the Japanese invasion, the situation in Northeast China was unstable. 193 1 year, Liang Sicheng resigned and returned to Beijing to reunite with Lin and his daughter.

For the husband and wife, three years in Northeastern University is a process of putting what they have learned in life into practice, which also lays a solid foundation for the successful establishment of the Department of Architecture in Tsinghua University. Of course, this is another story.

193 1 In the summer of, Lin, who was recovering from illness in Xiangshan, began to publish poems, as well as some novels, essays and plays. She doesn't write many articles, but most of them win by quality. It was also during this period that Lin and Liang Sicheng found a sunny day and went to the reclining Buddha Temple together.

Most people go to temples to worship and pray. On the contrary, they are most interested in the architectural layout here. Liang Sicheng drew a plan of the reclining Buddha Temple in his notes, and Lin expressed it on the pedestal of the shrine with a pen, which was so tacit. Who would have thought that Lin used prose strokes to write architectural papers, which was appreciated by Liang Sicheng and many architects. Just because Lin's talent in architecture is not lost to Liang Sicheng.

The sunshine and air in Xiangshan make Lin's body plump. In the meantime, other friends such as Jin, Xu Zhimo and Shen Congwen will also visit her in the mountains. They talk about current affairs, life, literature, poetry and interesting stories. Even in their later years in exile, they never forget to get together often, just for literature and their own ideals.

Sometimes, Xu Zhimo will also pour out his anguish to Lin. His main trouble comes from his married life with Lu Xiaoman. Although he broke the shackles of the secular, and Lu Xiaoman tied the knot. However, Xu Zhimo was drowned out by Lu Xiaoman's drunken dream. At the moment, Lin enlightened and comforted Xu Zhimo like her sister. His mood has gradually improved. Suddenly, he found that this inexperienced woman of 16 years old had long since disappeared and was replaced by a mature and considerate forest.

The residence of Lin and Liang Sicheng at No.3 Hutong, North Headquarters, was also the later famous "Lady's Living Room". Kim next door is one of the regular customers. In this literary salon founded by Lin, the literary temperament of her talking and gestures fascinated Jin, the father of logic. In salon after salon, he gradually fell in love with this talented woman.

At that time, because Liang Sicheng kept going out to inspect buildings, he could not stay at home with Lin. When Liang Sicheng is away, Jin often comes to visit. In the long run, the two were somewhat ambiguous. Later, Liang Sicheng accepted this sudden extramarital affair with a broad mind. The three found a balance point and lived together all their lives. In the later days, Kim lived by the forest, and to some extent, he became a relative with his wife.

Speaking of which, it is estimated that someone will scold Lin and say that she is a green tea bitch, eating what is in the bowl and looking at what is in the pot. Although I don't agree with what they did, they didn't do anything to hurt others. If Lin chose to divorce and stay with Jin, it is estimated that there will be more gaps in the architectural history of China now. Besides, none of them were hurt. Maybe we don't like Lin's way of getting along, but this way of getting along is decided by three people themselves, and they enjoy it. Why should future generations impose their views on them? "Don't do to others what you don't want them to do to you." I always think that it is good for the parties to feel happy.

Liang Sicheng's generosity does not stop there. When Xu Zhimo's plane crashed, Liang Sicheng hung the wreckage in front of Lin's window and accompanied her until her death. To some extent, Liang Sicheng's generosity fulfilled Lin's willfulness. Lin's awakening also made them make outstanding contributions in the architectural history of China.

It can be said that all the men around Lin love her very much. Probably, their love made up for the lack of family warmth in childhood. As a happy and talented woman, she will naturally be envied by many people. Today is the same.

The love story of four people ends here. Maybe I don't fully understand this, but this is not the focus of my talk about Lin. Architecture is her ideal and the real reason for her elegant and beautiful life.

"If Liang Sicheng is a solid foundation and pillar, it is a grand structure and pillar; Lin is different, it is the clever cornices, exquisite carvings, hollow doors and windows and beautiful foreheads. They are heavy and solid, and they are light and agile. Their combination is irreplaceable. " Zhang Qingping said this in Biography of Lin.

From 193 1 to 1937, Lin accompanied her husband in the field investigation and practice of ancient buildings in Hebei and Zhejiang. Backward backcountry, bumpy mule carts and flea beds all show the difficulty of field trip. Sometimes, her best friend Wilma and her husband Fei Zhengqing will go together. Because of the bad environment, Lin will complain from time to time However, when she discovered the forgotten ancient buildings, her joy was strong and infectious. Wilma is confused, impatient, excited, happy and elegant for a while. Which is the real forest? Everyone has worldly desires, so that he can be a real person, not a fairy who stays on the altar and doesn't eat human fireworks.

Until 194 1, Liang Sicheng traveled to more than 200 counties in 15 provinces and inspected more than 2,000 ancient buildings on the spot. Wherever Liang Sicheng went, most of them left Lin's footprints.

Of course, there is a little story. Gao also mentioned this in Xiao Shuo. At that time, because I couldn't travel all over China, I wrote a letter to the postmaster of each local county and sent two oceans to help them photograph the local ancient buildings. You know, two oceans, at that time, were the wages of the bottom workers for one month. Perhaps because of the simple folk customs of the Republic of China, they also received photos of each other. From then on, the husband and wife began to touch the ancient buildings in China from scratch.

Romain rolland said in the preface of the biography of Michelangelo: There is only one true heroism in the world, and that is to love life after knowing the truth of life.

War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression has already broken out, and it is everywhere. Nine years after Beiping was occupied by the Japanese army, their family moved from Changsha to Kunming and finally to Lizhuang in western Sichuan, which was a true portrayal at that time. Their research work was interrupted. Lin fell ill soon after arriving in Lizhuang. The chief culprit of the disease is tuberculosis, a terrible disease that killed Chekhov, Gorky and Lu Xun. Due to lack of medical care and improper rest, Lin can no longer live like a normal person.

Lin helped Liang Sicheng to write the first drafts of two English books, Architectural History of China and Architectural History of China. We don't know how much effort they have spent, only that health has become a luxury term for them.

Fortunately, Professor Fei Zhengqing, Special Assistant to the American Ambassador to China, visited them in Lizhuang, and was moved by their academic contributions, bringing them the necessary funds and food. The source of all this is that in that era of war, Lin still kept in touch with the outside world. That man is her best friend Wilma. Even though there was a shortage of writing paper at that time, she deducted a little here and a little there, wrote a letter and sent it to Wilma.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Liang Sicheng left Lizhuang with Lin and went to Chongqing for a medical examination. The doctor asserted that she could only live for five years. Maybe it's God's love for her experience, or her obsession with architecture. She created a miracle of life until she died at 6 am on April 1955.

From 65438 to 0950, Lin participated in the design of the national emblem, the design and construction of the monument to the people's heroes and the protection of ancient buildings in Beijing. She kept on working until she was admitted to the hospital. After her death, Jin wrote an inscription for her, and Liang Sicheng was her tombstone, which only read: "Tomb of the Architect's Forest". A few words show her persistence and love for architecture.

06

Lin was lucky and died in 1955. Otherwise, how can she stand the storm of 1957 with her delicate and sensitive mind and arrogant and pure nature?

She left, in the warm and cold spring, in the beautiful April day on earth.

In the chaotic world, Lin lives a unique elegance and beauty. Her beauty, her talent, her daring to love and do, and everything about her give us reverie. All the people who appear in her world are probably trying to make her live high.

"The poetic Chihiro Waterfall is an April day on earth."

Recommended reading: Biography of Lin.

Delicate brushwork shows a real forest. There is a feeling that the author seems to be face to face with you and slowly tells you a story. In the whole book, there are few descriptions of three love stories: Xu Zhimo, Jin and Liang Sicheng. As an outstanding architect and a unique poetess, Lin has been put into pen and ink by more people. In this book, what I see more is that Lin loves his career and remains optimistic in the face of adversity. There is always a passion to support her and go all the way. If you like to see the beautifully written forest, you can also watch Bai Luomei's "If you are good, it will be sunny". It's just that this book is far from the real forest. Of course, as a novel, it is not so much a biography as a reading.
