A "Little Buddha" tells the story of a western child who was identified as reincarnated. Although this film is only a fictional script, it is inspired by a real event. Since 1960s, western hippies have flooded into India and Nepal, and a Tibetan monk named Nishino Lama began to teach them Buddhism, which triggered a wave of Tibetan Buddhism spreading to the west on a large scale. This wave has not developed to this day. The disciples of Nishino Lama have established nearly 100 western Buddhist centers, meditation centers, monasteries and Buddhist publishing houses in more than 20 countries, and now they have branches in Hong Kong and Taiwan Province Province (the Hong Kong branch is the Mahayana Buddhist Society and the Taipei branch is the Buddhist Forest), and hundreds of foreign monks and nuns have become monks in these groups. Lamar Nishino died on 1984.
