Gu Yan Hua Xiang was first put forward by Lou when talking about the orientation of cultural industry projects in Dagangtou area. The "ancient weir" first shows the profound historical and cultural heritage. There are Tongji Weir, a national key cultural relics protection unit built in 505 AD, including ancient streets, ancient pavilions, ancient kilns, ancient villages and ancient camphor trees, which vividly show the beautiful features of the ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River.

"Hometown of Painting" highlights its cultural characteristics and development orientation. There are famous "Lishui barbizon school" inside and outside the province, including Lishui barbizon Exhibition Hall, Lishui Oil Painting Academy, Gu Yan Huaxiang Exhibition Hall and Gu Yan Huaxiang Branch. There are also professional artistic sketch creation bases-"Waterfront Sketch Creation Base" (located in Dagangtou Town, 23km away from Lishui City, which is the teaching and training base of China Academy of Fine Arts and its affiliated middle schools) and Lishui Jiulong barbizon Sketch Creation Base.
