Born in the thirteenth year of Zhou Wangjing (507 BC) and died in the twenty-fifth year of Zhou Pingjing (444 BC), he lived in the late Spring and Autumn Period and the early Warring States Period, and was born in a craftsman's family for generations. Since childhood, I have participated in many civil engineering projects with my family, gradually mastered productive labor skills and accumulated rich practical experience.
After about 450 BC, he came to Chu from Shandong to help Chu make weapons. He once created a ladder to attack the state of Song. Mozi came all the way from Lu to Guoyong, Chu, and argued with Lu Ban and the king of Chu, forcibly persuading the king of Chu to stop attacking Song.
Hand tools used by carpenters, such as drills, planers, shovels, rulers and Mo Dou, are said to have been invented by Lu Ban. And the invention of every tool is inspired by Luban's production practice, after repeated research and experiments.
Character invention
Lu Ban invented many things. According to many ancient books, he invented many woodworking tools used by carpenters. Like a carpenter's ruler, it's called Lu Banchi. Another example is Mo Dou, umbrella, saw, planer and drill. Legends are all invented by Lu Ban.
The invention of these woodworking tools liberated the craftsmen at that time from the original heavy labor, and the labor efficiency was doubled, and the civil technology took on a brand-new look. It contains the original knowledge of physics.
Lu Ban is also an outstanding mechanical inventor. The lock he made, the mechanism is inside, and there is no trace outside. It can only be opened with a matching key.
There is such a record in the book Mozi: "The loser cuts bamboo and wood, thinking it is a magpie, and flies away three days later." In other words, the wooden bird made by Luban can fly high in the air by the wind and not land for three days.
Many scientific and technological inventors in later generations, such as Ma Jun in the Three Kingdoms period, Qu Chun in the Jin Dynasty, Ma in the Northern Qi Dynasty and Ma in the Tang Dynasty, were all influenced by this legend and developed in this direction one after another.
In weapons manufacturing, Lu Ban once made siege equipment for Chu and played a great role in the war. Later, under the influence of Mozi, he stopped making such war tools and devoted himself to inventions in production and life to benefit the working people.

The wooden floor was naturally created by Lu Ban. Lu Ban's mantra records: Fu Yi, natural landscape, town house building, resist all disasters, house auspicious, home prosperous and healthy. Interpretation: Yi Fu, the first disciple of Luban, said that natural landscape is a good feng shui implication of fairyland, referring to the land god (god) in natural landscape fairyland. The natural landscape also implies that Mount Tai can be a town house, and all disasters, storms, lightning and ghosts can be resisted by Mount Tai, and disasters can be resisted by the floor of the house. There is no disaster in the family, and conforming to nature brings good luck and prosperity to the family. Be wronged by Mozi
Legend has it that Lu Ban invented the "hook" and "refusal" for the Chu navy. When the enemy is at a disadvantage, the "hook" can hook the enemy ship to prevent it from escaping. When the enemy is in an advantage, "refusing to stop" can resist the enemy ship and stop its pursuit. After Gou Jian refused, the Chu army was invincible, and Lu Ban was also worthy of being a military expert. One day, Lu Ban boasted to Mozi, "I have a hook that I won't fight on the boat. Is your righteousness also rejected? " Mozi advocated peace, opposed war, encouraged people to respect and love each other, and put justice first. He then replied, "I hook up with love and refuse with respect." You hook people, people will hook you; If you refuse others, others will refuse you. Isn't the rejection of' righteousness' better than that of' boat'? "Ruban was speechless.
Lu Ban took out his invention: a wooden magpie can fly for three days without landing. Mozi said, "This wooden magpie is not as good as the handlebars cut by an ordinary craftsman in an instant. As soon as the handlebar is mounted on the axle, the cart can carry fifty stones. " And what's the practical use of your magpie? What carpenters do is good for people, and what is bad for people can only be called clumsiness. "Upon hearing this, Lu Ban knew Mozi's philosophy.
Lu Ban used to be a ladder to help Chu attack the Song Dynasty, and Mozi came to stop the invasion. In the Chu Palace, clothes were the city, bamboo pieces were the utensils, and Lu Ban was at war. Luban's siege equipment is exhausted, and Mozi's method of guarding the city still exists. Finally, Lu Ban was persuaded and the king of Chu gave up attacking the Song Dynasty.

He was so powerful that someone said to him, "It's your apprentice Taishan." Lu Ban couldn't help but sigh with emotion: "I really don't know Mount Tai!"

The full name of Luban Award is "Luban Award for Construction Engineering". Luban Award for Construction Engineering was established by China Construction Industry Federation on 1987. This award is an industry honor award and belongs to the folk nature. At that time, the annual quota was 20, with strict selection methods, application and evaluation procedures and strict evaluation discipline. The review work shall be conducted by the review committee.
