In the process of escaping from the crime scene, Guo injured two supermarket employees and was finally caught red-handed. The victim died of craniocerebral injury after treatment. After the incident, public opinion was overwhelming, and many people strongly demanded that Guo be severely punished, and strongly questioned the effect of his previous commutation and reform, and asked the relevant departments to re-investigate and try. Therefore, the law enforcement department approved the arrest of the suspect Guo on suspicion of intentional injury for the first time. At the same time, the relevant departments at higher levels set up a joint investigation team and a task force to conduct disciplinary review and supervision investigation on suspected violations of discipline and the use of duty crimes.
Finally, on the 3rd of this month, the Beijing Higher People's Court ruled that Guo's previous nine commutation sentences were revoked and the previous life imprisonment sentence was restored.
