Why did Jiyuan become the only county-level city in Henan Province?
Henan is a populous province with a population of 1 100 million. In Henan 18 cities, the city with a large population exceeds100000, but there is only one city that exceeds 700000, and this city is Jiyuan.

Jiyuan has not been a prefecture-level city for a long time. It once belonged to Xinxiang and Jiaozuo. Sub-prefecture-level cities were changed from 65438 to 0997, and were officially upgraded to provincial-level cities in 2005. At least in terms of administrative divisions and population, it is not much different from those provincial cities.

Jiyuan, named after its birthplace Jishui, is located on the north bank of the Yellow River, separated from Taihang Mountain in the north, adjacent to King Wu in the west, Luoyang in the south and Jiaozuo in the east. In addition to the well-known spirit of ignorance, Jiyuan has quietly created many "advanced" economies.

In terms of natural resources, there are more than 40 kinds of proven mineral deposits in Jiyuan, with considerable reserves of coal, iron, copper, aluminum, phosphorus, bauxite, quartz stone, marble and limestone. There are more than 3,200 species of animal and plant resources, including 1 180 species of medicinal materials, including more than 100 species of rare animals and plants under special state protection.

As a northern city, Jiyuan is rich in water resources, and the annual exploitable amount of groundwater reaches 654.38+0 billion cubic meters. It's not water, it's money!

Jiyuan's industry is low-key and gorgeous. It is an important lead and zinc deep processing base and electric energy base in China, an important mining electrical appliance production base and coal chemical base in the central and western regions, and an important salt chemical and special equipment manufacturing base in Henan Province.

Since the establishment of the city, the local per capita GNP has been very high and has been in the forefront of Henan Province. Statistics in 2009 show that its per capita GDP reached 45,700 yuan, once surpassing Zhengzhou and becoming the first.

This data is not a flash in the pan. In 20 15, Jiyuan's per capita GDP reached 70,000, ranking second. Almost twice as much as Kaifeng, Xinxiang and Pingdingshan.

Another reason why Jiyuan can become the capital city is that its urbanization rate has been higher than the national average. In 20 16, the urbanization rate of permanent residents in Jiyuan reached 59.6%, which was 1.58 percentage points higher than that in 20 15, ranking second in the province for seven consecutive years. The data shows that the urbanization rate of Jiyuan is higher than the national and provincial average by 2.25 percentage points and 1 1. 1 percentage points respectively.

The vegetation in Jiyuan city belongs to temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest belt, and most of them belong to coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest. Planting deciduous oak trees in Taihang Mountain area. Except for a small number of primary forests near Aobei Mountain in the west, the rest are mostly mixed forests of secondary oak forests. There are a few pine forests in the eastern limestone area, and the rest are mostly mixed forests and shrubs, with a forest coverage rate of 48%.

The shallow mountainous area in the west is a two-year and three-crop cultivated vegetation with wheat as the main crop. There are few forests and many barren hills and slopes in this area. Except for a small number of secondary oak forests near Yanwa River, most of the other hilltops are artificial Robinia pseudoacacia forests, and shrubs such as thorns, Vitex negundo and jujube trees grow on the hilltops, with a forest coverage rate of 20%.

The loess hills in the southeast of China and the sloping plains in front of the mountain are cultivated vegetation patches with wheat grains as the main crops. There are more cultivated land in hilly areas, and the forest coverage rate is 14%. The city has a forestland area of 810.36 million mu, including 440,300 mu of natural forests and 373,300 mu of artificial forests. By the end of 20 14, the compensation area of the national key public welfare forest in the city was 590,700 mu;

2 national nature reserves, covering an area of 574,000 mu; Forest Park 1 piece, with a forest coverage rate of 44.39%.

Walking on the streets of Jiyuan, you will find an interesting phenomenon: "Gong Yu" is everywhere. On Jishui Street, the stop sign of several buses is "Yugong Lane".

On the east side of the largest Century Square in Jiyuan, there is a statue of Gong Yu, with strong muscles, firm eyes, long legs and hands waving pickaxes.

If you have visited the statue of the silly old man, you will find that the silly old man is left-handed! When I was young, I often heard old people say that left-handed people are smart and can do great things. Later, I found out that many famous people are left-handed, such as Julius Caesar in ancient Rome, Napoleon, Heine, Nietzsche, Aristotle, and our beloved Premier Zhou.
