Zhang used to be a soldier in a certain unit of the Beijing Military Region. After being transferred back to his hometown in Fuyang, he suffered many setbacks. So he traveled all over the world at 1980 and stayed in China for six years. Nicknamed "Crazy Taoist" and "jiangbei romantic genius".
1986 12 left Menglian, Yunnan, and came to the Golden Triangle, which is known as the "poison town". He traveled to hundreds of villages and towns in the Golden Triangle and spent eight years in the ranks of mountain thieves and drug lords. He died after difficulties and obstacles.
Achievement of works
Six novels, including Chronicle of the Golden Triangle (Episodes I and II), Eight Years' Journey to the Golden Triangle (Episodes I and II), The Breaking Golden Triangle, and 20 TV series Chasing the Golden Triangle have been published.
His paintings have been collected by China Records in Thailand 1988, Centennial Painters in China in Singapore 1990, Appreciation of Modern and Contemporary Painters in China in France 1990, and Directory of Shanghai Contemporary Artists in Zhongwei 1992.
In 2005, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, there were more than 20 kinds of catalogues, including "Works of Chinese and Thai Artists". Zhang's two landscape paintings, The Pure Land of the South, were collected by the Great Hall of the People on August 3, 1965, and a collection certificate was issued.
