The People's Government of Guangdong Province was established on1October 6, 1949+065438, located at No.305 Dongfeng Middle Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. After 1988, Guangdong Provincial People's Government administered 18 prefecture-level cities (later increased to 2 1 prefecture-level city), and fully implemented the system of prefecture-level cities governing counties and townships governing villages, which has been in use ever since.
