He is Gu Zhenqing, an independent curator known as one of the "faithful promoters of contemporary art in China".

In recent years, China's contemporary works of art have shined brilliantly in the international market, and some contemporary artists have become artistic stars pursued by the media. If an artist is a star, then an independent curator should be a director. It is these curators who provide artists with opportunities to make appearances again and again, and also clarify their artistic direction academically. However, when everyone is talking about the artist's sky-high records, few people know about these curators hiding behind the scenes. Gu Zhenqing is such a very prestigious curator in the art world. As early as the early 1990s, he was active in the contemporary art circle in China as an independent curator, paving the way for countless artists who were obsessed with early contemporary art creation. In the most difficult and lack of funds, he tried to find resources and funds to provide conditions for artists to do exhibitions. For more than ten years, from the "First Chengdu Biennale" to the overseas "Back to the Future" series of exhibitions, he can plan at most seven or eight large-scale exhibitions a year, and each exhibition is very weighty. In the contemporary art world, the most famous curator is Li Xianting, who introduced Fang Lijun and Yue Minjun. Now, Lao Li is opening up and guarding the "New Art District" in Songzhuang County. Young curators are obviously becoming more and more active. They curated and criticized in art galleries, art centers or alternative spaces in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and even made their mark on the stage of international contemporary art. Since 1999, many accomplished artists in China contemporary art circle have participated in Gu Zhenqing's exhibition, and many young artists have been discovered by him, making progress step by step since the exhibition he planned.
