Literary thoughts
At the beginning of her creation, Xiao Hong really accepted the influence of left-wing literature, with a little radical color of left-wing literature, and gave deep sympathy to the people at the bottom, especially the women and men at the bottom who were oppressed by class. Most of the characters in her works are women, children and the elderly, while women are more common, and women's rights thoughts are becoming more and more mature.
However, Xiao Hong's creation is quite different from the popular realistic left-wing literature. Her class concept is not only political and economic, but also cultural, and it is the opposition between the strong and the weak.
Anecdotal allusions
1940 (in the 29th year of the Republic of China), Xiao Hong arrived in Hong Kong with Duanmu Hongliang, and later published the novella Ma Bole and the famous novel Biography of Hulan River. During his stay in Hongkong, Duanmu Hongliang helped Luo, a writer in exile in Northeast China.
Shortly after the Pacific War broke out, Luo planned to leave Hong Kong, but when Luo called Duanmu Hongliang to say goodbye to Xiao Hong, Duanmu Hongliang asked him if he could stay in Hong Kong for the time being and help take care of Xiao Hong, who was seriously ill. Luo generously promised. According to Luo's records, from the outbreak of the Pacific War to Xiao Hong's death for 44 days, he always guarded Xiao Hong's side. As for whether there is love between Luo and Xiao Hong, later generations have always denied it.
