After Ma Ri incident in Changsha, he was sent to Anyuan to organize workers' pickets to fight against the Kuomintang reactionaries. When Mao Zedong returned to Hunan to lead the autumn harvest uprising, he took part in the armed uprising of Anyuan workers and went to Jinggangshan. 1928 was transferred to Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary-General of the Provincial Committee. He has been sent to Jinggangshan Red Army and Hunan-Jiangxi Border Special Committee for many times to understand the situation and guide the work. In July, the Hunan Provincial Party Committee appointed him as the secretary of the CPC Hunan-Jiangxi Border Special Committee. Together with Du Fu, a representative of Hunan Provincial Party Committee, he mistakenly carried out the provincial party Committee's order that the Red Army should go to southern Hunan, and was responsible for the failure of the Hunan-Jiangxi border and southern Hunan in August. 1929 After recovering from illness at the beginning of the year, he served as the director of the Political Department of the Fifth Red Army, and was soon ordered to report to the CPC Central Committee on behalf of the Jinggangshan Front Committee in Shanghai. He wrote a written report of tens of thousands of words, and made a detailed report and analysis to the Central Committee on more than a dozen issues such as the political and economic situation in the Hunan-Jiangxi border, the armed separatist regime in the Hunan-Jiangxi border and the experience of the Red Army struggle, as well as suggestions on relevant work. The CPC Central Committee sent him as a special correspondent in Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi, went to Changsha, Wuhan and other places to engage in the underground work of the party, and joined the Wuhan Special Branch of the CPC. Under the direct leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, he participated in the restoration and reconstruction of the Wuhan Party organization. In September, he was appointed Commissioner of Hubei Provincial Committee of CPC. At the end of the year, because of the traitor's betrayal, he was arrested by Kuomintang agents in Hankou and taken back to Changsha.
