Based on the basic idea of "industrial transfer, innovation and development, and trying first", the Guangdong-Guangxi Cooperation Special Experimental Zone will devote itself to building an innovative demonstration experimental zone for cross-regional cooperation and inter-provincial cooperation in the eastern and western regions of China, actively explore new models and systems for the construction, operation and management of regional cooperation and inter-provincial cooperation parks in the eastern and western regions of China, establish two provinces (autonomous regions) under direct control, share and overlap preferential policies between the eastern and western regions, link up economic development strategies, and integrate regional administration and social management.

Guan Peng, vice mayor of Zhaoqing City, revealed that Wuzhou City and Zhaoqing City jointly entrusted China International Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. to prepare the master plan of the Guangdong-Guangxi Cooperation Special Experimental Zone. The Master Plan of the Special Experimental Zone for Guangdong-Guangxi Cooperation will be released soon, and the governments of the two provinces (regions) have formed the Guiding Opinions on the Construction of the Special Experimental Zone for Guangdong-Guangxi Cooperation, which will be signed at the 8th Pan-Pearl River Delta Conference on 20 12.

In addition, the two cities have jointly established a three-level coordination mechanism, including the meeting of the leading group office, the coordination meeting of deputy mayors in charge and the joint meeting of mayors, and the annual cooperation project plan is clarified through the mayor meeting every year. The two cities have identified 24 key projects in the early stage, including Wuzhou Ring Road, Guangfozhao Expressway extending to Wuzhou Section and Dayuan Bridge, which are about to start construction.

Xu Wenwei introduced that in the future, the experimental zone will become a model of regional cooperation between the eastern and western parts of China, a pioneer of economic integration between Guangdong and Guangxi, and a new growth pole of the Xijiang Economic Belt. In view of the special position of the experimental area in the upper reaches of the Xijiang River, the future industrial layout will focus on advanced manufacturing, strategic emerging industries, advanced agriculture, advanced service industries and other fields.
