Taiwan Province Taiwanese songs were handed down from Xiamen.

At that time, there were hundreds of songbooks spread from Xiamen to Taiwan Province Province, and the covers were mostly dark yellow crumpled paper with four or five pages of Xiu Xiang, which were low in price and popular in content. The fervent homesickness of Taiwan Province compatriots has promoted the wave of publishing and composing songs in Minnan language in Taiwan Province Province. In the 1930s, some bookstores in Xiamen also published songs in Minnan written or adapted by Taiwan Province people, including historical stories and folklore, as well as social events and persuasion songs at that time, such as Song of Black Cat and Dog, Song of Japan's Defeat, Praise of Chiayi in March, Song of the Strange Case of Tainan Canal, and Song of the Flower World.

Not only that, Xiamen's Minnan vernacular Christian songs also spread to Taiwan Province Province. In 1900, missionary Gan published a collection of songs based on Yang Xin, which was printed by Xiamen Meihua Bookstore, and Yang Xin, which was published by Gulangyu Minnan Education Bureau 19 12 and 1926.

At that time, when the Japanese invaders occupied Taiwan Province, people used female husbands to observe the festival to express their shame and national integrity as Japanese ministers. The Dictionary of Taiwanese Music clearly records that Xue Meisi's string was "taken from Xiamen tune".

Scholars in Taiwan Province Province also admitted: "The New Drama Movement in Taiwan Province Province originated at the end of the 12th year of the Republic of China (1923). In the early days, people engaged in this movement were mainly from Xiamen Universal Education Society ... ""In 12 years of the Republic of China, Changhua County Press Society was established, which was organized by Chen Qian, Pan Lu and Xie Shuyuan. Influenced by Xiamen Universal Education Society at that time, they staged a "love of conscience" when they returned to Taiwan Province during the holiday.

1932 Shanghai Lianhua film production and printing company produced the film "Peach Blossom Tears", which was written by the screenwriter and starring Ruan. When importing Taiwan Province, in order to attract the audience and design and produce advertising songs for publicity, the film industry urged Zhan Tianma to write seven-character lyrics according to the plot outline and Wang Yunfeng to compose music. The first landmark Minnan pop song was born.

Xiamen people's contribution to Taiwanese songs can be traced back to the 1920s and 1930s. Luo Changpei, a professor at Xiamen University, recorded the folk song "Longan Fighting" in Xiamen dialect (composed by Zhao Yuanren), which was popular in southern Fujian and spread to Taiwan Province Province. Zhou Shuan (1894- 1974), 1925, returned from studying music at Harvard University and other universities in the United States, and worked as a music researcher and chorus conductor at Xiamen University. 1932, in her collection of children's songs, there is a lullaby "Sleeping Song" with the lyrics of a well-known dialect nursery rhyme in Xiamen: "Oh, oh, sleepy, one inch bigger; Oh, oh, unfortunately, it's a foot bigger. " Two sentences, repeated for eight times, accompanied by piano. This is China's first Southern Fujian coloratura song.

Yao Zanfu (1908- 1967), a native of Changhua, Taiwan Province, studied at Huaying College in Gulangyu at the age of 14. After returning to Taiwan Province, 1933 joined Columbia Records Company in Taiwan Province Province and wrote many songs in Minnan. The most famous is Heartache published by 1936, which reflects the feelings that men were forced to be soldiers in the expedition to Nanyang and women were angry and helpless during the Japanese occupation period. 1938 composed music for "Love Train" and "Life Hate", which is widely known. His "The Cup of Sad Love" also occupies a place in the music scene of Taiwan Province Province.

Zeng Zhongying (1925-), 1946 graduated from the history department of Xiamen University and went to Taiwan Province Province. First as a radio announcer, he was arrested and imprisoned for the "2.28 incident". After he was released from prison, he and his friends formed the "Prynne New Troupe" to create lyric new songs for Minnan films. He is an artistic generalist who can write, direct, act, sing and broadcast. More than 1000 songs have been written in Minnan language alone. His works or lyrics such as Birds in the Rain, Meteor, Living Alone and Wushan Fengyun are still widely sung on both sides of the strait.

After liberation, a group of artists in Xiamen also worked hard for Minnan songs: I Love My Taiwan Province Province, which was widely sung in the 1950s and 1960s, was arranged by Yang Yang; Chen wrote many lyrics in Minnan and passed them on to the students. You collected a large number of Minnan nursery rhymes and choreographed them to perform on the stage. Luo Shifang wrote many influential articles on Xiamen Taiwanese opera.

Minnan songs

In recent years, the creation of songs in Minnan language in Xiamen is relatively backward.

Taiwan Province's songs originated on the west coast and flowed on the east coast. Of course, the exchange of Minnan songs between Xiamen and Taiwan Province is two-way. When Xiamen's songbooks were spread to Taiwan Province Province, Guangming Press in Taipei, Zhou Xielong Bookstore, Huang Tu Movable Type Publishing House and Liyin Press, Zhu Lin Bookstore and Xingxin Bookstore in Hsinchu, Linwen Bookstore in Taichung, Ruicheng Bookstore, Xiumingtang, Receiving and Sending Chinese Books Department in Chiayi, Yuzhen Bookstore, Linzi Movable Type Bookstore, Yunlong Hall in Tainan and Sanchengtang in Kaohsiung all took the initiative to take over Xiamen.

From 1933 to 1937, it is the golden age of Taiwan Province pop songs! 1933 A classic Minnan song "Looking Far" appeared, written by Li and composed by Deng Yuxian, which was widely circulated among Minnan people all over the world. At that time, Dr. Lin Qingyue, who was known as "Dr. Singer" in Taiwan Province Province, said, "Every song should be recorded, every smell should be recorded, and you should always entertain yourself by singing". In his spare time, he imported songs from Xiamen, such as Shan Bo Ying Tai, Chen Sanwu Niang and Lv Mengzheng, and reprinted them for sale. He wrote and arranged thousands of songs in Minnan in his life. Later, he simply "abandoned doctors and followed songs", posted advertisements selling songs at the entrance of the clinic, and published many books at his own expense, such as "Popular Songs Imitating Ci Style" (1952) and "Songs Collection" (1954), which greatly promoted the early spread of Minnan songs in Taiwan Province Province.

I love my Taiwan Province province, which was popular in Xiamen in 1950s and 1960s. It was originally a Taiwan Province minor composed by Taiwan Province composer Xu Shi 1945. This is Xu's I Love My Taiwan Province Province, followed by Zheng Zhifeng's I Love My Sister. Another widely sung "Fishing Song" was misinformed as a Minnan folk song.
