Heping town is located in the northwest of tengxian, bordering Mengjiang Town in the east and south, Danzhu Town in Pingnan County in the west and Taiping Town in the north. Before 1957, it was under the jurisdiction of District 9 (once called Mengjiang District). Heping Township was founded in 1958, also known as Peace Commune. 1963 was renamed Heping district, 1968 was renamed Heping commune, 1984 was renamed Heping township, 1990, 10 was renamed Heping township. So far, it is named after its resident.
