In middle school, influenced by Bai and Yang Jiping, he began to learn calligraphy and seal cutting. 1988- 1990 participated in the calligraphy class of Tianjin Amateur Painting and Calligraphy Institute (now Tianjin Shenzhou Painting and Calligraphy Institute), and studied under Tian and Yan Baozhong.
