Established in 1963, directly under the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first foreign language schools established after the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), and it is a semi-boarding foreign language school directly under the Ministry of Education.
The Foreign Language School affiliated to Shanghai International Studies University (referred to as the High School Attached to Shanghai International Studies University) is a seven-year boarding middle school. The main campus of the school is located in Hongkou District, Shanghai, covering an area of 33 mu, with a total construction area of 22,508 square meters. The campus is surrounded by green trees, with a beautiful environment and complete facilities for teaching, activities and living, which fully meets the growth and development needs of teachers and students.
Shanghai Foreign Language Senior High School was established in 1963, directly under the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first seven foreign language schools established after the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is the "Shanghai Key Middle School" evaluated by Shanghai Education Commission. In 2009, it won the title of "National Model School for Foreign Language Teaching and Research in Primary and Secondary Schools", and was repeatedly rated as an advanced school for moral education and a model school for students' code of conduct in Shanghai.

Shanghai Experimental School is a young, modern and distinctive school. Its predecessor was the "Experimental Class for Comprehensive Reform of Primary and Secondary Education System" of the Institute of Educational Science of Shanghai Normal University. The school was established with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. 1986.
1987 May 10, Comrade Jiang Zemin, then mayor of Shanghai, attended the inauguration ceremony of Shanghai Experimental School and wrote the name of the school.

Pudong Foreign Language School affiliated to Shanghai International Studies University, referred to as Shanghai Pudong Senior High School (Puwai), is located in the scientific research and education zone of Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park in Pudong New Area, No.9 Darwin Road1,and is a landmark school in Pudong New Area.
Zhu Jianguo, vice president of Shanghai International Studies University, is also the president of our school. Founded in the autumn of 1996, the school is a modern boarding public conversion school with all foreign language characteristics, which was donated by Li Ka-shing, a famous Hong Kong industrialist, provided by Zhangjiang High-tech Park Development Company, and undertaken by Pudong New Area Government and Shanghai International Studies University.
Due to the excellent quality of running a school, the Ministry of Education grants the school the qualification to walk 20% of senior three graduates to foreign language majors in national key universities every year.
