The main research directions are: geotechnical engineering and hydraulic structure engineering. He has successively obtained a doctorate in hydraulic structural engineering from Wuhan University (formerly Wuhan University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power) and a postdoctoral fellow in geotechnical engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University. He also served as a master tutor in the School of Ship, Ocean and Architecture Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University. During this period, he went to La Trobe University in Australia for bilingual teaching training, and was a senior visiting scholar at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom (2005); He is currently a professor at the School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering of Hefei University of Technology.
